Thirdwigg Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 To highlight some of the finest MOCs of the Technic community for 2014, I present the inaugural Thirdwiggy Trophy. Enjoy reminiscing over 2014 with me. Quote
Paul Boratko Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) I can't take that list seriously with Madoca's Corvette not being on it... Edited December 31, 2014 by Paul Boratko Quote
jorgeopesi Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I'm not agree but if that your taste is fine with me. It would be fun to vote the top 10 or 14 of the year. Quote
MrTekneex Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I can't take that list seriously with Madoca's Corvette not being on it... Agreed...and absolutely this (Imho) I'm not agree but if that your taste is fine with me. It would be fun to vote the top 10 or 14 of the year. True! Poll please!!! Quote
Paul B Technic Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Good idea. I have posted a link to this on my blog. Quote

LeocornoProductions Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 You can't take it seriously without any of sheepo's mocs Quote
D3K Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Great list, a lot of really nice models there! You can't take it seriously without any of sheepo's mocs I could take it seriously even without his MOCs, but you sound like you couldn't-- Luckily for you his VW T1 and Beetle are indeed included on the list! Quote
cgg199 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) You can't take it seriously without any of sheepo's mocs His Beetle and Split Van were both in it as one model. I don't agree with this list though, a lot of good MOCs were missed out, but the ones included definitely deserve to be there. It should have been a top 20 really. EDIT: Go there just before me D3K! Dalafik Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Each list of a "top something" kind represents a subjective view of its compiler. The best way to determine the greatest model of this year is to make a poll. But it isn't possible to include every cool creation in the short-list, so it still will be biased. Besides, many of excellent MOCs are published in local LUGs and unknown to Eurobricks community. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 Thanks all. Yep, a number of Madoca's builds were on the short list, but the 813 was the one I liked the best. The Corvette was pretty awesome, just not quite to my fancy as much as other builds. On to 2015. Quote
LeocornoProductions Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I also can't take it seriously without any of crowkillers, jurgen krooshop, zblj, lucioswitch, MrTekneex, Piterx and rm8's mocs. All of these builders and sheepo and madoca, have produced some of the best mocs of 2014. 2015 is going to be all about zblj and madoca; they came out of no where designing these amazing mocs, and both builders have exciting future projects to be showcased next year. AssembleToDissasemble Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) This is unreal. Probably one of my favorite MOCs and Lego supercars of all time. Exquisite bodywork, instantly recognizable as an F40. Edited December 31, 2014 by AssembleToDissasemble Quote
Kumbbl Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 TechLUG, what else ? FYI, reviews of Pipasseyoyo MOCs : http://www.techlug.f.../topic6897.html http://www.techlug.f.../topic7285.html http://www.techlug.f.../topic7678.html http://www.techlug.f.../topic8141.html http://www.techlug.f.../topic8336.html http://www.techlug.f.../topic8650.html http://www.techlug.f.../topic8812.html http://www.techlug.f.../topic9034.html http://www.techlug.f.../topic9299.html http://www.techlug.f.../topic9396.html (I like this one a lot) He is surely One of the most talented builder i know. Especially the mobile crane with its 4 section Boom (at this scale!) is incredible but also the dump truck is outstanding... I would die for BI of this mobile crane... Back to topic: always Hard to compile a bestof list... This One is a Good list and i'm sure the OP has thought about it a lot... But of course every other builder will miss some other highlights. I for myself would indeed add the F40 but also the kenworth Truck of juergen - to mention only two missing expamples. The Ferrari Spider of brunoj would be another candidate, at least for the shortlist... Quote
Meatman Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) Having built both Madoca's Vette and crowkiller's Phantasm turbo this year and seeing the new designs and ideas they used, I would have to say they were more than deserving to be included somewhere. Also that F40 is also well deserving. Edited December 31, 2014 by Meatman Quote
Osuharding1 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Similar to Meatman, I have built every Madoca MOC (except the Wing Body Truck) and all of Crowkillers' Supercars. The Tatra 813 Is a great build and probably his best but in my opinion his Off Road Truck should be on the list. Also, either the Phantasm Twin Turbo or the Muscle Car should have been on the list as well. Quote
rollermonkey Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Two 8x8 Trial Trucks shows some bias... One or the other could have / should have given way for another category of MOC. (IMO) Quote
Epic Technic Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Guys you can keep telling Thirdwigg that he is missing models or he chose the wrong ones or face the fact that this is his opinion. YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN LIST!!! Quote
LeocornoProductions Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 The title said 'top 14 of 2014' not 'my top 14 of 2014' Quote
Kelkschiz Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 The title said 'top 14 of 2014' not 'my top 14 of 2014' It is clearly implied that the list is Thirdwigg's opinion only, just a few quotes from his post and the top of the blog entry: 'I present the inaugural Thirdwiggy Trophy.' 'So to celebrate the MOCs of the community here the rundown of the Top 14 creations for 2014 as judged by Thirdwigg.com. Here is how I evaluated the MOCs' It is obvious that this is just his personal list, which is quite well thought out and so deserves to be taken seriously. Of course our own lists will look slightly or radically different according to our own personal preferences. Quote
