Hello EUROBRICS

My name is Khaled Yousef, I'm 33 and I'm from Egypt. I'm an engineer and a photographer.

I've been a fan of LEGO as far as I can remember, and I've never stopped being so. I got my first set (FABULAND 3660 Fisherman's Hut) as my fifth birthday present from my parents... and once I opened that lovely green box all my other toys faded to the background, and LEGO became my one and only interest.

My favorite themes were TOWN and CASTLE in the eighties, PIRATES throughout the nineties and then Star Wars took over in the early 2000s up till now.

So here I am... a lurker no more... and hopefully an active member of your awesome community.

Hello Khaled, and thank You for sharing this with us.

I wish You all the best for 2015, hopefully Your situation will improve both as a fan of Lego and as a person of course

Well, we've all been listening to a lot of crazy stuff going on there in Your contry.

It's very sad that politics, economy and hate can make such turmoils, break into someone's life, take away things and dreams.

People who live in "quiet" countries don't even understand and imagine that someone could suddenly take away their everyday toys and tv shows and fresh shower

But it's great to see that You have not surrendered and You still have Your dreams.

That's the most important thing, one can have, and it's most important never to have it taken from us.

Therefore i wish You Your dreams could come true, and You could be a 100% Afol again.

A lot of new sets and themes comming out in 2015. Among them Pirates so hopefully You will be able to have fun with them again.

And of course, see You at the boards!

Thank you very much guys for the welcome :classic:

And Mazin, I appreciate what you said very much, and I didn't even mention the awful recent events we're going through here because I didn't want this to be my own whining thread, but you seem to understand; we've lost what's beyond normal everyday commodities, maybe to the extent of losing mental stability altogether sometimes, but I still think I can manage, by clinging to the little things I love, and the support of friendly people... so thanks again man.

You're most welcome :classic:

Still, i guess we should pass the aht round and buy us our own country  Emirate of Lego, or a Federate Republic of Bricks  Heh, it would be fun to live in a community of afols and focus on things we like the most  Still, Lego is just one of many things in our life, and we have to go trough a lot of other, whether we like it or not
