bitbang Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 So I was thinking of doing a small scene that showcases all the seasons in a strip style. Have a beach, into a an autumn park, into a winter wonderland, and finally a flowery spring setting. The miniatures will be themed to go with each like umbrella carriers in spring, cold weather gear in the winter, and so on. I am trying to figure out what sets would be best for this. I have quite a bit to work with but I want it to be more detailed. I want to place it in my dining area in the cabinet along side all my other festive decor I change out every 3 months :) Quote
AirborneAFOL Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I think it may depend on what region you have in mind. I'm sure the seasonal variations may be quite different based on the regional setting. Quote
3BrickFriends Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Hi bitbang. Nice idea. What size area are you looking to use? If relatively small you could put it on a turn table and have each season in a quarter... so it shows the passing of time/seasons looping back around. Its hard to pick sets to buy. In my mind trees are the best way to show the seasons... spring blossom, summer palm trees, autumn red/orange leaves, winter pine trees covered in snow. I would start by positioning at least 1 tree in each season, that could be your common link between the seasons. When I start to plan a MOC I normally sketch a few ideas on paper and look through current sets and sets we own to see if there are specific details which could be included. Looking forward to seeing it develop. Quote
Wodanis Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 There are a few seasonal sets from last year that may help but if I were you I would just create your own! Much more fun that way. I am imagining a minifigure that would transition between each season. For example a fig with an umbrella walking from spring into summer? Or something along those lines. Will be interested in seeing what you come up with. Quote

I can just make the tree the same in each one and change the leafs on it. The size was going to be around 3 feet but if I do the round idea, it can be a lot less. I am going to try to use the same amounts of items so the scene is the same with only the season changing. I think it may depend on what region you have in mind. I'm sure the seasonal variations may be quite different based on the regional setting. I am doing the typical four seasons - hot sunny summer, cool dry fall, cold snowy winter, and mild rainy spring.
