Huh, I'm... kind of at war with myself over this. On the one hand it's still got a simple look to it, on the other hand it is more set accurate? It's kind of under my expectations, which is disappointing, but at the same time I'm relieved. I think I'll adjust to it, but I want the storytelling to be more in depth then what we've already got.

Edit: At first I thought the title WAS 'Gathering of the Tor', lol. And I think it's growing on me, except Tahu looks kind of small, and the smoothness of Onua's shoulder armor is bothering me, but Gali looks pretty damn fine.

REALLY loving that art style. A great compromise between set and animation looks.

It feels to me like what D'Anda would cook up based on the cartoon style. Really cool.

The Graphic Novel is not the only thing today:

Are those crystalthings on the left side the new add-on?

I believe this was already posted :P

Saw no discussion about it on this page, well it's still my bad. Would had liked some obscure teaser of Umarak rising in the forest at least or something... more than just those armor parts.

Graphic Novel

NICE. Very happy that the art style isn't too dissimilar to the aesthetic of the toys, as that was one thing I was really afraid of happening.

Nope.

I would not expect an official release for a while.

On a side note, I'm torn between ordering the graphic novel on kindle or physical. I want to read it now, but I like having my comic books in physical form.

Yeah....thought not. I've already pre-ordered my copy of the graphic novel....it's supposed to be hard cover!

Actually, Tahu noticed; we just didn't talk about it:

Plus there are the Original nuva symbols!!! And under that, there is a carving of Tahu with Ikir on his back!!!

I wonder what the symbols on the right are, though. The Creature's heads, perhaps?

And in general today is a perfect day to be hyped. Can't wait to grab that graphic novel, looks gorgeous!

Nobody mentioned it so I'll do it: I really liked that the whole first part of the episode used no music at all. It really highlighted the sense of hopelessness the Toa were feeling. Sometimes, silence is much more powerful than any song or theme.

It's interesting that this almost, but not quite, follows the book. If nothing else, the precise method of Grinder's defeat is different:

Also, that teaser-carving.

NOSTALGIA OVERLOAD!

The 5 empty squares at the bottom are probably for the secret letters hidden in the episodes (Unity). I just love it when they have little secrets like these hidden in the background.

Same, my only gripe is the narrator's line delivery. I guess he was trying for that "gasping" feel, but it just sounded like he was stopping mid-sentence.

It's pretty obvious to me now that it wasn't a typo, but someone misreading it.

I'm very happy that we have official info now for the graphic novel and the last episode has been released. It looks quite promising and I am pretty excited.

I really loved this episode. I could find almost nothing to complain about. The voice acting, the sound effects, the sequencing--- everything was delivered very well, in my opinion.

I did notice a small animation goof. In the scene where the Toa get hit by Grinder and their weapons and masks go flying, Onua is standing to the "right" of Gali (from the viewers' point of view), yet his weapon is positioned to the left of hers. Additionally, in the final scene, none of the Toa have their weapons... except Tahu and Lewa. Okay. Still, neither of these things reduces the enjoyment of the episode for me. I think it was a fitting ending to the year, though I am disappointed that Ekimu simply remade their old masks. I mean, what's even the reason that they get new ones next year, then?

Edit: http://i.imgur.com/oHweWIu.png Ekimu jumps on Tahu's back to hit Kulta. I find this very funny for some reason.

So, folks! In the interest of making the episodes easier to watch together I've edited all of them into a single video, cleaning up the transitions so it all flows as a cohesive, smooth narrative. You can watch it right

Awesome. I'm looking forward to watching this.
