DuckBricks Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 (edited) Got only one Scorpio, but doubles of all the rest... The majority of the doubles' pieces go to MOCcing, but it's sometimes fun to make different variants for armies. Back when my Lego store was doing the Protectors promo where you could go to the store and build your own protector, they gave me the whole lot of parts at the end (for free ), so I think I have around 20-30 of each Protector sans Earth and Stone (which for some reason weren't included). Also, there was a random Pohatu in the mix, so I guess I have two of him too. Edited August 28, 2015 by legozebra Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Wow, I don't even have enough money to buy all the Skull Villains, let alone multiples of each...You must have a lot of money. Not anymore The second Skull Scorpio was given to me as a gift, I got the second MMvSG for 20% off, the extra Skull Bashers and Slicers were part of a parts draft that I did with a friend (because he wanted the bone bones out of them and I got to keep the rest) and he paid me nearly a third of the set's total cost for them. The only double I intentionally got at full price was Warrior, and he got turned into Corphos (my most popular MOC) Quote
Takanuinuva Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I want to get a second Warrior and Slicer for parts. I need more of Slicer's parts for other things so getting a second one would be better than ordering each of those individual parts and waiting for them to arrive in the mail. Quote
Fulcrumfan91 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I only just received Slicer as a gift, bought Basher, but I have yet to build them. Anyone know whether episode 13 has come out yet or when it will be out??? Quote

I need more of Slicer's parts for other things so getting a second one would be better than ordering each of those individual parts and waiting for them to arrive in the mail. That's part of why I want to get multiples of them specifically. I want to have two copies of Warrior so that I can make one into a custom in order to have a Skull Villain for Gali to fight, and for the sake of having two of all the pieces that only come in a multiple of one in the set. In the same vein, I want another Slicer in order to have two of all the pieces and to have extra of the exclusive Trans-Bright-Green recolors. Quote
Dorek Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I only have one of each so far, which is fine with me. If I have to get a double at some point (for the gold mask), I'll either do Scorpio (so he can wear a normal silver mask while my main one wears the trans neon one) or MMvsSG, so SG can wear the golden mask and I can have a spare Mask of Creation. I'm also making a Skull Villain for Gali to fight but I'm basing mine of Aanchir's Skull Ripper. So I need another Skull Warrior for parts for that moc. Btw anyone notice that Skull Slicer's light grey gears are a new redesign of the mold? Quote
mysteriouspi Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I almost never get duplicates, but I very well might grab two Bashers since he has four bone bones and four ancient armor add-ons. Love and need them. Currently only have MMvSG though. Quote
Aanchir Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Btw anyone notice that Skull Slicer's light grey gears are a new redesign of the mold? Not quite new — that version's been in circulation since 2009. But yeah, it's different than the older version that the Manas used Quote
Kalhiki Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 No, I meant like sold. In that way. Like, that's their regular prices? Pohatu and LOSS being $10 and Onua $15? No, here in the US the first two are $15 each and Onua is $20. So 5 bucks off. Not too bad. Still didn't get any though. Quote

ToaDraco Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 I'm going to get a second Slicer purely for all the GLORIOUS trans apple green for moccing. I have only gotten duplicate sets by accident in the past and even then it was only twice when someone bought me a set for Christmas that I already had. Quote
TwistLaw Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Every time someone says that BIONICLE was axed because of his complicated story, I laugh my butt off. Here in Europe we got little to no storyline line material (big countries like Italy, France and even Germany have never seen a single book from G1 translated). All we knew was the essential, like thousands of kids did and were perfectly fine with. Quote

It wasn't axed for that reason only but it's a considerable argument since an overcomplex story doesn't help in any way to boost sales for a kids toy. Quote

What the average kid was able to understand from the very simple bits of story scattered across commercials and catalogs wasn't much more complicated than the 2001 story. If we're talking about charm, well, that's a whole other deal. 2007 stinks still to this day. Quote
Frozen Assasin Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Hey, don't talk about the Barraki ! And we've got 2 awesome songs and two even more awesome videos out of it. But, yeah, the Mari weren't the best. As were the playsets. Quote
TwistLaw Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 (edited) As usual Mother Russia brings us the best things. This lil' neegga was found on a rus site and then taken down. G2 bad guy? Me likes! Edited August 30, 2015 by VBBN Fake or not, don't post images made to imitate the confidential Lego ones Quote
Takanuinuva Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Looks to be another Polybag. I know there should be a Skull Villain for Gali to fight. But this seems a bit underwhelming. Looks easy enough to make. But not sure what color or type his claws are. Quote

Here in Europe we got little to no storyline line material (big countries like Italy, France and even Germany have never seen a single book from G1 translated). All we knew was the essential, like thousands of kids did and were perfectly fine with. Precisely. I've learned more about the story in 2007 after getting on the internet and I was a collector since Toa Mata. We had here maybe 2-3 comics that were translated and all movies too. Saying you'd have to read all the books is like saying that to enjoy the new upcoming Star Wars movies you'd have to watch all the previous ones, the whole Clone Wars series, Rebels series, read all canon books (and all non canon books, play all video games and read the absurd amount of comics)this is now irrelevant to the story. (And then there's the fact that I would actually like to do it. A shame I'll have to read other books because of school.) I hope there will be a way to get the new books, since here most likely won't be official distribution. Edited August 29, 2015 by davidr Quote
DraikNova Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Weirdly enough, that polybag seems to use the Chima claws in tr. orange combined with that technic pneumatic connector Invasion From Below used. It's bones are dark red, yet its armor seems tr. (light) blue? Quote
Aanchir Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 As usual Mother Russia brings us the best things. This lil' neegga was found on a rus site and then taken down. G2 bad guy? Me likes! Looks REALLY dubious to me. The consistency of the transparent colors and some of the angles make it seem like an LDD model with the head and arms shopped on. Not to mention the wonky angle and white backdrop might make sense for a catalog leak, but extended-line polybags like this generally do not show up in leaked catalogs. The edges are excessively pixellated, which means either that the photo was even smaller and sloppier than the usual leaked photograph, or that the image was cropped and skewed digitally to make it LOOK like a small, sloppy photograph. And of course, seemingly dark red leg beams and feet (which don't appear in ANY other sets, let alone other sets currently in production) seem like the most blatant kind of pandering, and something you would not see in a polybag of this kind. So I definitely wouldn't count on this one being real. Quote
MakutaOfWar Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 (edited) Yay, an undead Protector. At first I was like "Are those Stars feet?", nope just small kaiju feet, the pose and blur through me off. Edit: Hold the phone, I think that background was used in another fake before. Edited August 29, 2015 by MakutaOfWar Quote
Dorek Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Hahaha what even is that thing I love it though. Hopefully it's not fake, them dark red bones would be swell. Quote
Voxovan Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Where do you guys see dark red bones? ._. They look pretty gray to me. Also, the whole polybag looks fake to me, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Quote

Also, the whole polybag looks fake to me, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. The upper legs. But yeah. If they ARE dark red, that more or less confirms this is a fake. Random incidental parts in a polybag in unique colors? Preposterous. If we get exclusive recolors in an extended-line polybag, they will be the FOCUS of the set. Otherwise there's no point not using more common parts. Quote
