efferman Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) I want show you a small masterpiece from a fellow builder which has no account on eurobricks. "Meisterschnorrer" has reverse engineered a model which was build some years ago by the builder "monteur". The 1.4m long Model shows a Uaai 839 transformer transport with 32 axles and 3500 parts. here some pictures IMG_9373Uaai 839 by Meisterschnorrer, on Flickr Edited December 22, 2014 by efferman Quote
Man with a hat Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 It is a masterpiece indeed and not a very small one. Quote
dr_spock Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 A big nice. I recall seeing something similar on Brickshelf years ago. A blue Horizon Express? Quote
efferman Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 yes, he built it at evening before making the video. Quote
Laui Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Huge work! How good are the 4-axle bogies in curves? Don't they grind? But i'm very impressed how the arms slide in and out when it goes through the curves and keeps the whole thing close to the radius of the curves. Quote
efferman Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 the 4 axle bogies are not massive. The first and last axles can slide a bit from side to side Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 That looks amazing, he did a fantastic job recreating it Quote
garethjellis Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 WOW, thats impressive. I would love to see how the swinging arms are built. and how all the wheels under are constructed to go around the curves. VERY clever Quote
efferman Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 the swinging arms a unfortunately top secret but the 4 axle bogies they are not. the pins in the axleholes are simple non friction pins. These are allow the axles swing from side to side. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Nice build! I like how is long! Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Very nice to see such a huge set of wagons for something so specific and realistic looking. I like the Bogie design as well, may get used at some point. Quote
