There's an interesting thread pinned in the General Discussion Forum. Someone has found a list of sets available from Jan 2008 from Amazon.de:

Here's the translation:

LEGO Action 7723 - Police Water Plane EUR 25,99 (probably in the line of the swimming Police and Fire Boats)

LEGO City 7741 - Police Helicopter EUR 12,99

LEGO City 7743 - Police Surveillance Car EUR 39,99 (might be a truck considering the price)

LEGO City 7744 - Police Station EUR 89,99

Bugger!!

Talk about a police state! How about some town for these guys to protect and serve?

The only think that i might get from these is the police helicopter if it will be well scaled (hoping for something similar than the ambulance helicopter), otherwise we have enough of police.

No! More Police is fine by me - there's one street in Tabletown that only has two Police cars patrolling it and, frankly, I'm worried that a riot might break out at any minute. :-D

I am definetly needing more Police. My Lego State is getting to big, and the current police force isn't just handling the whole thing.

I for one expect a lot from that Truck! *y*

I hate more police too. I have about 6 different types of lego police car in my city and its just rediculous!

however I may buy a few of these mayve the helicoptor and I didn't get the last station so I will see what this one looks like and I may consider buying it.

There are more police vehicles in my city than any other vehicle! X-D

Dr S I agree with you you need atleast 12 police vehicles patroling your street to need the lego gangster scum of the streets! X-D ;-)

I too would like more normal town/city stuff, but having only one Police station (And it being 2005's crappy one at that), a new one would be very welcome. Especially if it's done as well as this years firestation.

I also like the sound of the Police water plane, but why is it under a new "Action" line rather than "CITY"? Weird, perhaps it's got the boat motor attached to the bottom.

I can't wait to see these because IMO the current police station is a piece of crap. I hope they let the gey who designed the current fire station design this new set. I'm also excited about the sea plane! Police & Fire will always be a staple of town because it's a guaranteed seller, especially for younger buyers. However, I do think they should expand into shops and other City buildings, but I'm sure we'll get more of that through modular building and Factory.

The list pinned on the General LEGO board is just a taste of what's coming next year. I'm sure we'll see plenty more... X-D we better anyway

just what our cities need..more police..

what is lego trying to do?

well i agree with hinckley that we could have a nice new police station

compared to the new fire station and port we could have good city sets this year..

but the last one was good enough for me..(and its the only one i have)

i have a policy for my city..

if you have it and like it..dont buy it!

so since i have a police and a fire station im not gonna buy the new ones..

I agree with zeki: We have enough of police!

I'll perhaps buy the Police Water Plane. But that will be - if at all - the only one of the new police sets I'll buy.

A prison would have been much better because we hadn't something like this before. Or a set combined with the police theme - perhaps a "Bank Robbery" with a bank, a police car, a bank clerk, a bank robber, a citizen and two police men - that would have been nice!

Didn't they make a "Dock Ock's Bank Robbery" set for the Spider-man 2 theme?

I have a 7237 police station and i feel that it is rubbish and i agree that lego city has too many police sets |-/ but i do agree with Six Wide Bob that if this new one to come is big than i shall be persuaded to get my wallet out and get one ;-)

Damnit, I was looking forward for shops and restaurants SO BADLY! *sing*

Why more policemen, when, like Six Wide Bob said, there is nothing to protect.

Really pisses me off, just when I hoped City would be like Cafe Corner and Market Street. |-/

Eh... well there are certainly lots of police sets, and not nearly enough other sets to fill the town out. Restaurants, government buildings, parks, doctors, libraries, bike shops... something that we haven't seen for a while (if ever)! On the other hand, I have to admit that I'm an impulse buyer, and I have avoided buying the current police station because I'm not wild about it (especially the baseplate), but that LEGO would probably pry the money from me if the new set was nice.

You guys need to think aboutt his from a young buyer point of veiw. Be honest with yourself. If your a 12yr old kid, what would you rather have. A post office, restrant, librarie, or a shiny new police station with police cars and such. Again, think of this from a childs point of view. I went into this a little bit in the 08 jan. sets.

I just don't see kids saying to there parents..

"Dad, lego just came out with a new Librarie! If i'm good can we get it? Please???"

Sorry. I just don't see a kids eyes lighting up when seeing this. If lego does in fact ever make sets like Libraries, various shops and such i don't think we'll see them in the city line up. Sets like that are more suited to cafe' corner and market street style since these sets lean more torwards AOLF's.

Now a bank with conjuction with a poilce car, and armoured car i can see working. A bank with robbers, and a police car or two with a paddy wagon (prisoner transport) an armoured car, and a get-a-way car for the robbers. I can see the potential in that for both kids and AOLF's. Like many have said, this will give something for the police to protect.

I for one look farward to the police lineup. Would have liked to see a new mobbile comand unit this time around, but oh well. Guess i'll have to wait for the next go around.

Aslo, i don't see why everyone disliked the old police station of 05. I thought it was great!I'veeven heard of some claiming it to be to "<insert that tiresome argument>". I though it had great detail! I'm curious to see how the'll surpase the last one!

Both, my town NEEDS a police force to prevent rioting. thouth i would MUCH prefer cafe corner.

(yes, i am 12...)
