Brainbox Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Just a thought, but if these 'Impulse' sets are supposed to be a small minifig/accessory set (as I hope) that we'll buy on 'impulse' to help reach a monetary amount, or buy to fulfil a Lego craving, then doesn't us deciding to buy them kind of defeat the point? ;-) Quote
Athos Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Found this and this on brickset. I wonder if the Impulse line will be something like these... Anyone know what magic box is? Steve Quote

xwingyoda Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Well lego are not the only ones who have made up vehicles for the star wars line :-) 8- Quote
natelite Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Hmm, sounds ok.City: Darnit, I like most everyone else do NOT want more police sets. I want to see cool buildings like malls, offices, and restaurants. Racers: Sound good, I like Racers. Indy: These seem great, I am a huge fan of Indiana Jones. Exo-Force: Wow, the names are very interesting. It sounds like it may take place in a jungle this year?? Star Wars: I don't care much about SW, but if the sets are as good as they were this year, I may pick up one or two. Impulse: Really looking forward to this, I really hope they are minifig packs. Technic: Don't like or care. i dont know about you, i think EF is going to be a disappointment next year. it's getting so predictable. 6 sets in the first wave. 4 large stick figures and 2 small ones. it's getting old for me, building $15 stick figures. indy sounds promising. will have to see. SW getting weirder. going to stick with PT and OT sets. EU is just too weird. Impulse sounds good. mostly going to get the knight and the magician. i'm mostly going to wait for better castle sets and the creator or factory series. *wub* can't wait to see what will come next after market street. Lt. Col. Thok Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Great find! Maybe Impulse= impulse buying, as they are small sets (as the names suggest)? Quote
Siegfried Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Great find! Maybe Impulse= impulse buying, as they are small sets (as the names suggest)? Yes, I am 99% sure that is what it means. I even said so at post 10, but it seems no one reads what I say as at least three people have said virtually the same thing. :'-( :'-( :'-( (Calm down... breath deeply.... ahhhh.) Sorry. I feel better now. Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 (edited) Scavenger, eh? I wonder if that mean's we'll get a hobo digging around in a trash-can...Sweet! Finally Lego opts for realism in its city line! Impulse sounds good. mostly going to get the knight and the magician.I agree. I really hope they're small supplemental mini fig packs for the existing themes. The initial impression formed in my head when I read "lego" + "impulse" was of "creator" style sets. Kahgarak Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 A spider-like micro battle machine? Awesome! I hope that these Impulse sets will be tiny sets to introduce kids to Castle and MM and stuff. I'd love a tiny Alien jet...Mmmm...compactness... Quote
alex54 Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 i have a question... has anything ever been released in this "action" series before ??? why is is separate from "city" ??? i wonder.- BM I can't remember seeing an action city serie before... We will see... New police stuffs is not really a news, it was predictible... But they will be better than the 2005 sets, regarding to the 2007 sets. If ithey looks good, why not for me... I have to wait for the design before... And those Impusle sets sounds promising if they are small minifgs sets! But the other sets are not for me... So I will wait for the second series of the city stuff for june... Quote

Same with bionicle, six bad guys at the start, then six good guys, titans, and playsets in the summer, yet it is LEGO's most popular theme. Quote

gylman Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Well, having endured one moderate disappointment (8421 giatn crane) and one utter disappointment (8285 the Tow Truck), I find myself having a hard time getting excited about anything Technic related for 2008. I think that NXT (which I really don't like) also kinda dampened my interested in the entire Technic field. When I came to EB I was all Technic and Castle, but for me these days the action is clearly in City with the incredible Cafe Corner and almost as good Market Street. Even the smaller 6-wide sets are great - the Garbage truck is my fav set of the year so far after CC. I agree the bulldozer looks promising - maybe it will restore my enthusiasm. The small and medium sized sets annouced for Jan 2008 certainly won't. Quote
Siegfried Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 (edited) Well, having endured one moderate disappointment (8421 giatn crane) and one utter disappointment (8285 the Tow Truck), I find myself having a hard time getting excited about anything Technic related for 2008. Well I bought both and I still look forward to new Technic! I loved the crane (I conceed that the pneumatics are too weak but it isn't a real crane anyway!) and while I bought the Tow Truck for parts, I liked it more than I thought I would and breaking is was harder than planned. My biggest whinge about Technic these days is I wish Lego would ditch Ferrari and just release a new multi-geared car with full suspension. As a programmer NXT doesn't appeal to me much either as I spend enough time programming as it is! What didn't you like about the crane? Edited July 16, 2007 by Sinner Quote
