dcht Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 First time posting here so if this is in the wrong forum I apologize. I'm in the process of designing this church: http://i.imgur.com/dY5Ovfd.jpg In the image I have an arrow pointing to the part of the church where I'm struggling to design. Do you have any suggestions on how to accomplish this? The roof is the trickiest part for me. Is this even possible? What would you do? The width of the church is going to be 32 units so it won't be a huge church. Thanks for the help! Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 My first instinct was to use this piece, though getting a bar to clip onto at a 45 degree angle might be tricky. Alternatively, this part might work just as well, and be easier to use. I have no idea if the potential colors will work for you. Quote
Superkalle Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Hi and welcome to the forum! I'm moving this to the Town forum, where hopefully you'll get even more help. Quote
Withacee Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 (edited) Welcome, dcht, One of the ways is to use four angled plates: http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=54383 and http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=54384 To get the right angle of the roof, use a few hinges/rocker plates. For instance 3937 and 6134 or 3938. There are smaller angled plates as well, if necessary. You can use the facade top of 10185 (Green Grocer) as an example. I would also need to be able to put a window in, which is why I'm leaning towards 4227507. Quote
Withacee Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 If you need windows, the hinges (either as plates or as bricks, both are available) are usually better. Modified facet bricks come in different widths: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?q=Brick,%20Modified%20Facet Advantage of these is a nice smooth outer surface. You can still combine them with windows in combination with the hinge bricks, but it never looks perfect. Disadvantage is the fixed angle; as opposed to hinges which can, well, hinge It looks like a great project. Good luck, and we look forward to seeing some of your work! Quote
