sweetsha Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Hi everyone, After another Galaxy Squad topic here let me show you a small creation I made to honor the blue team - the Space Splitter : But why "Splitter" ? Well, most official GS sets had the characteristic to split into separate vehicles and that's what I wanted to enhance here. The main structure can split into different parts : And assemble to have as a result a mini-spaceship, armed mech and a maintenance robot : Everything connected with the use of technic pins and holes like this So we keep a good playability as you can clip/un-clip each part as you want :) Below the 2 mini vehicles in details, starting by the mini-spaceship : And the mech with heavy guns : Do not forget the tiny robot here to assist the blue team ^^ An overall picture to finish : Note - Shape and functionality inspired by the legendary set : Ice Planet 6973 Deep Freeze Defender :) Hope you'll like it, C&C are as always welcome Quote
WhiteFang Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Love the playability of the transformation of its various fitting. Quote
BrickSev Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I really like how you achieved the "split feature" in the typical Galaxy Squad style Your brick-built robot is very interesting. The more I look at MOCs and "official" Galaxy Squad sets the more I realize the theme has such a huge potential. It's a shame it was so "short lived". The Lego Sci-Fi community would have greatly benefit from more GS sets. Anyway, congratulations for your MOC Quote
Missing Brick Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Very clever. I like working out how the main ship comes apart to form the mech and small ship. Really nice feature. Quote
TuftedDuck Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I wasnt really taken by the Galaxy Squad sets but then i see something like this and kick myself. It's not just about the sets it what's you can MOC with them! Quote
sweetsha Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 Thanks for your comments :) I wasnt really taken by the Galaxy Squad sets but then i see something like this and kick myself. It's not just about the sets it what's you can MOC with them! Yeah, the color scheme is pretty common (except maybe for the blue team) so there's lot of creation possibilities with his theme. Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I'm glad that Galaxy Squad MOCs aren't finished. The split function is made perfectly! Keep up the great work! Quote
Lord Tyrus Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 JUST like a set LEGO would produce, great job! Quote
Krikkit Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 The playability of this looks endless! Incredible! Quote
