8258 B-Model Pickup Truck

Yesterday i completed my build of the B model for 8258...the red pickup, i wasn't interested in the crane/trailer part of this set. I didnt have the parts to build a total B model and i just wanted the pickup.

Its an excellent model/design....sorta like an older version of 42029. Good use of the parts from the A model, its functions are standard and in line with what you would expect. But from a visual standpoint its a very good looking model. I added a few pieces here and there to pimp it up a bit :-)

The pickup took about 4 hours to build, not sure how many pieces it uses but it felt like 1000 parts.

If you don't have 42029 this is a great alternative!....i hated the yellow "hook" on the front winch so i replaced it with a proper hook. Added a 11L beam to the 5x11 panel to fillin that gap. and just added a few bits here and there to make it more complete.

I once built the B-model from 8258. I agree, the truck is very playable on its own.

I moved the front axle and front mudguards 2 studs lower to match the back. Looks much better.

Just did a bit more pimping, added two panels to the back section of the driver cabin. I used 2 small Red #1 and #2 panels. fits perfectly and looks really good!
