I was just trying to buy a selection of bricks from lego UK bricks and pieces, as they were cheaper than that available via bricklink. As I placed them in the 'basket' I was deleting them off my bricklink wanted list.

So when done I click the 'checkout' button, which takes you to a page with t&c etc, check the box saying I have read them, and then click on the 'go to shop checkout' (or similar wording, I think the only other option was a 'back' button) This took me straight to the lego shop home page. No order summary, no asking for payment details etc, and no evidence of any order being placed. I was logged in as a VIP, and I was hoping that if I went back I would be able to retrieve my order and try again, but the basket was empty....

Whats particularly annoying is that having deleted the items from my bricklink wanted list it is now a little harder to work out which bricks I was ordering from lego.

I think tonight I will work out what all the element id's are and order over the phone tomorrow if it still does not work!

Were you adding a lot of items (and large multiples of the same)? If so, it deletes your cart and you lose everything. I haven't a clue what the cut off is for this happening, but I have had it happen to me before too.

That sounds like the answer, although I did not think the quantities were particularly high, about a dozen types of small brick, varying in quantity from something like 5 to 75 of each. That is very annoying.

I had this exct thing happen to me last week, just as you've described. I filled the basket and had the order disappear 3 times. After the third time I switched browsers from Safari to Chrome. I was nervous when I pressed checkout for the fourth time in an hour, but the order went through perfectly with Chrome- I still have no idea why.

I had the same thing happen to me, also last week. I was ordering sets, and only 5 or 6, but while they'd show in my cart when I added them, then I clicked in to the cart to check out it showed it was empty. Then I'd go to add a set again, and the cart icon would show that I still had items in it (navigating live, not just clicking "Back"). Really odd. I was logged in as VIP so, as tkatt did, I switched from Safari over to something else (it was either Firefox or Chrome- don't recall now) and signed in there and everything worked normally. I think they've got some bugs right now...

Hmm, I was using Chrome... Still I will have another go tonight, and if it does not work I will just have to phone the order in.

Well I have discovered the issue... Just noticed in the small print that there is a limit of 100 bricks maximum per order. This must be a new thing as I am sure it was not like that before! I need 275. If I have to do three separate orders its going to bump the price of postage up....

Does it still allow 200 in the drop down box?

Yes it does!

Anyway, placed my order by phone - they really do have very cheerful and helpful customer service assistants which makes it an absolute pleasure, and she gave me a discount on account of the hassle too, so result!

Its 100 different LEGO elements, not 100 elements total... Perhaps this means you could order 100 * 200 = 20,000 different pieces at a time

Oh well, goodness knows why it did not work! Mind you, when she asked 'is there anything else?' I was tempted to answer 'Yes, what are you doing Saturday night?' :)
