Good old Lego builder Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I' m considering building this Dutch so called 'standaard streekbus' bus. I'm going to build it classic 12 studs wide, to fit with some other builds. Now, maybe this is a faux-pas or not done, but I'm asking your advice anyway. I can't get my head around the front. The bumper part. I have mainly old bricks, so maybe there are parts I don't know I could use for this. I want to create al little offset in that bumper, but I just do not see how to create that. Any advice? At the image it is the part slightly sticking out above the grey part of the bumper.... It mainly the corners I just can't envision..... http://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:DVM_1694_Hoogeveen.jpg Quote
Erik Leppen Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) Wouldn't it be a matter of placed sideways? (Stud facing forward)? Edit: or placed sidewards? A lot of such stuff is best done with SNOT (studs not on top) techniques. Edited December 7, 2014 by Erik Leppen Quote
Rijkvv Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) Something I remember from designing a truck is the usage of this or this part. When you manage to place it with the studs facing forward it shouldn't be too hard to create an offset of a plate or a half plate. Edit: Erik Leppen beat me to it. Anyway I'm very curious what you come up with, since I've got sweet memories of this type of bus. Edited December 7, 2014 by Richie Quote
Good old Lego builder Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) Thanks guys, I guess I just need to try something or and order fromc brick link. I planned on using these: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/224_Curved_Bricks Richie would your second part match those? (The curve) Edited December 7, 2014 by Good old Lego builder Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Theres also this part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=33243 Quote
Hrafn Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 At 12 wide you'll want fairly small parts for those curves. Part 11477 is available in yellow, as are some of the other curved slopes Quote
