Any safe way to remove white stripes from street baseplates?

I was wondering is there any safe way to remove white stripes from street baseplates? I am atm designing new city and got to many of those in 1 place. Would love to modify 1 plate.

I made visualization to show you what I would like to achieve. Left side - original, right side - my goal.

Anyone done that? Or maybe you got any ideas how to do it without destroying street surface?

Brasso, the copper cleaner, not the silver... that and a lot of rubbing will take care of that... how smoother the survice , the better it will come off...

I have used Brasso on torsos with great success and would like to try this as well to get rid of the dotted lines along the side of the street. I build sidewalks using two layers of plates which means I don't really need the lines.
