I would say go for the Unimog. It's such a beauty, and it's getting rare by the day. Volvo is new, so it will be around for some time.

It also depends on what kind of parts you want. Volvo has quite a broad range of pf elements, but the Unimog has pneumatic elements.

If you want the Unimog, go for it while you still can. You'll be able to get the Volvo later.

EDIT: the Unimog is 120 Euros more expensive? With the number of PF elements the Volvo has, that sounds weird.

Yeah, I bought it for parts and didn't care so much about flaws, but the steering was poor.

Nicjasno fixed that. But get the Unimog, I built at least three MOC's out of the majority of its parts.

The Unimog was probably the most disappointing technic set I've bought. There's nothing wrong with it, but it was super-hyped, hard to live up to that.

Things that bug me with it:

- too big

- poor performance of functions (steering, crane)

- not fun to play with

- no intricacy, no smart mechanisms or building techniques

- failed the child test, my kids ignored it

Pros:

- physically impressive

- introduced multiple great new parts (wheels, torque tubes, portal axles, new compressor pump, pneumatic coupling part)

- robust

- good suspension performance

- good colour scheme
