Microdragons Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 What do I use for rendering LDD files on a Mac? Preferably not LDraw. Quote
deraven Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 To clarify, are you asking what program you can use to build virtual Lego models with on a Mac, or what kind of tools to use to do actual photorealistic rendering of already created LDD/LDraw models? Quote
Microdragons Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) Photorealistic rendering using a file already created with LDD. Also, how do you make a lxf, ldr into something Blender can use. Edited November 12, 2014 by Microdragons Quote
deraven Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 There are already plenty of topics here on Eurobricks and elsewhere - essentially you need: - LDD or Bricksmith for editing or creating the model - The latest LDraw files including all the current parts lists - High-res parts files (LGeo) installed in the LDraw directory - Something like LDView to configure your settings for the POVRay render file (or you can export directly to POV from some applications if you don't need to fiddle with lights and such) - A Mac-compatible version of POV-Ray, or megaPOV to do the actual rendering Here are a couple links that you might want to read through for more info - they also have commentary about using other tools like Blender: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=95517 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82225 Quote
