GuyDudeMan27 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 This is awesome! I love the snot route you took. What is the size compared to the official one? Quote
Rishab N Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 The SNOT work is awesome, you can't even tell it's made of legos Quote
Godtshep Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Fantastic work! This needs to be frontpaged! Quote
deraven Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Impressive build, nice technique… but it's TOO smooth! ;D Quote
Manx Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Fantastic build and a great picture of it. Quote
TWP Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Good work! As others have said, I think it's rather flat/smooth. And why did you use the clip/plate technique here so predominantly? any special reason? It looks rather nice, I did a quick research and didn't really think that wouldn't be my first choice to do the border. Those Death star halves for the engines is a NPU in my opinion! Quote
Swan Dutchman Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Very nice ship indeed! It's very smooth indeed like the other eurobrick peeps said... but maybe because it's a digital build? I would like to see this build in reality and to see how sturdy it would be. But all the same, it's a nice ship. Well done! Quote

I would like to see this build in reality and to see how sturdy it would be. But all the same, it's a nice ship. Well done! I'm pretty sure it's a real build. If you look you can see some slight color variations in the snot portions. I wonder how it stands up though. The inside must be pretty technic-ed up. Quote
VK-318 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) If you follow the Flickr link, there are some shots from behind that are either pictures of a physical build or the new gold standard in rendering. I'm pretty sure this is a real, physical build. Edited November 9, 2014 by VK-318 Quote
jamie75 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 I know it has been said before, but, this is really a nice clean build. Most impressive!! The force is strong with you!! Any chance of some pics of the belly of it? Where's the Blockade Runner? Thanks, Jamie Quote
Kristof Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Respect! Very interesting and original choice of doing the edge of the hull plates. It looks really good. Oh and these death star half spheres for the thrusters - briliant idea! As someone mentioned above, it's smooth. Maybe a little bit to smooth for me. I could imagine some plastic patterns to the hull not to be so plain, but... you know, easy to be the clever one :D It's fantastic model. I really admire your work! Kristof Quote
neoconagenda Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 When I first looked at this the other day there was something that threw me off with it and I could not figure out what it was. I took a look at it with beer goggles and realized what it was. The missing texture that makes it so sleek and awesome also (to my eyes) draws my focus to the center seam. This is by no means going to change my mind that this is an amazing ship. I am just happy that I was able to figure out what my issue was. Quote
arc Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 When I first clicked on the topic, I thought that first picture was a render of a star destroyer to compare to the lego one you built, until I realized that was the model itself! VERY impressive. Quote
Lord Tyrus Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Soooo clean! Sooo smooth! I WANT IT!!! Fantastic build, especially the fact it's not a render! I especially like the technique you used for the 'trimmings'. Quote
Jared Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Smooth. Very, very smooth. I want one... :D Quote
BetterBuilderThanYouAre Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 HOLY! I thought this was a 3D model, not legos. Quote
Cyberfounder Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 That looks amazing, I only wish TLG would take the time to make such a model. Quote
hachiroku Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I love the MOCs that I can't figure the building techniques Quote
