XAxles Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 While I disagree with the language there mister, I do know what you mean. Can you maybe tone it down, some of the members get offended by certain language use. OK, so that was so blunt it became sharp, and I felt bad.But damn if the same authors don't do their shopping. Bennemans Posted December 10, 2014 Author Posted December 10, 2014 Brickset.com has added loads of pictures of the CLASSIC sets. Gives us a great look at what's in them!: http://brickset.com/sets/10696-1/Medium-sized-blocks-set http://brickset.com/sets/10694-1/Building-blocks-supplemental-set http://brickset.com/sets/10693-1/Building-blocks-supplemental-set http://brickset.com/sets/10692-1/Building-blocks-set Some examples: Quote
Gnac Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I enjoy that toaster. All these neat little things almost make up for the Story Mixer never being released. Almost. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Can't wait for these to come out, or at least the baseplates. I am looking forward to the baseplates myself especially if they are of different selectable sizes. 48x48 is too big for what I would like to do but 32x32 or even 16x32 would be grand. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 I don't know that I care for the name "Classic". To me, it sounds like a response to those people who complain about LEGO offering "only sets with instructions for one specific model nowadays, unlike the good old days when you could just buy a bunch of bricks and use your imagination", completely unaware that LEGO has always (well, for several decades, anyway) offered both types of sets. It seems to be conceding to those consumers' misconceptions, and pretending "yeah, we stopped offering basic bulk brick boxes for years, but now they're back," but then I guess it's easier than educating buyers to correct misconceptions. The important thing is that these do look great. They do seem to have better mixes of parts and colors than the bulk assortments of recent years, and I love that it'll now be possible to get more colors of baseplates in bulk. Does anyone know how many baseplates come in one of those baseplate packages? The images of them in headered bags (as opposed to the current shrinkwrap packaging) seems to me to suggest they'll have more than one per bag (as does the pricing)... Edit: never mind; Brickset lists the tan baseplate set as having one piece, so there we go. Quote
mmcclelland Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Does this mean that the traditional blue and green 32x32 baseplates will disappear? I notice both are sold out on the UK lego shop Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Well, I know for a fact that in Oz the blue base plates have be deleted for stores buying lists. Quote
tafkatb Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Green's definitely in next year's assortment, but blue might be getting replaced by tan. That said, it is December, so something being sold out right now on the website may not necessarily indicate it's gone for good. Quote
danth Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 You know what Classic sets I'd like to see? Classic SPACE. Quote
obsidianheart Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Anyone else notice the various printed eye pieces? I can see a half open one and one with the eye closed. I sure hope these make it into other sets soon, or I may have to justify a Classic bucket purchase. Noticed this right away. That'll be huge with the Mixels crowd. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 (edited) These are my jam. I'm gonna get 10694 - finally a source of pinks, purples, and teals that my 9 yr old sister can't make fun of me for! (li'l doofus is always teasing me about Friends sets) Edited December 13, 2014 by SpiderSpaceman Quote
tafkatb Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Looking at the Classic assortment revealed so far, there are a few gaps in the set numbers, so there are probably a few more coming. Quote
Robert8 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Are these already available? When are these scheduled to be released? Quote
tafkatb Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Next Monday in LBR stores, New Year's Day online. Quote
just2good Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Next Monday in LBR stores, New Year's Day online. AHAHAA YES NEXT MONDAY IS MY BIRTHDAY AND I CELEBRATE BY GOING TO THE LEGO STORE... SCORE! Quote
tafkatb Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Two more Classic sets have surfaced: http://brickset.com/sets/10698-1/Large-Creative-Brick-Box http://brickset.com/sets/10695-1/Creative-Building-Box The first one costs $59.99; no price confirmed yet for the second but I'd guess around $40. Robert8 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Next Monday in LBR stores, New Year's Day online. Thanks! I'm looking forward to the Creative Supplement Bright. A bunch of useful and rare colors Quote
m0dulo Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I saw those baseplates on brickset a while ago. I wonder what size they will be? Since they have three of similar size. And at that price ppoint, you'd expect them to all be 48x48 which will be neat instead of just light bley. The recent 48x48 grey baseplate was $15 at LEGO. It appears to have "sold out" but the classic 10701 is due 1/1 and still priced at $15. However, the picture online is still 48x48, not 32x32 as pictured here. The 32x32 green baseplate (626) was $5 and is now sold out! I hope the newer version (of the exact same thing) is priced the same. There is no way I'd pay more than $5 for a 32x32 baseplate. OK. Maybe $6. But definitely not a 300% increase from one visit to the store to the next a week later. You know what Classic sets I'd like to see? Classic SPACE. Amen! :) Does this mean that the traditional blue and green 32x32 baseplates will disappear? I notice both are sold out on the UK lego shop From what I can tell, they are changing the number of the green from 626 to 10700 and raising the price. Quote
tafkatb Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 http://brickset.com/sets/10702-1/{-} Since this is the only one to turn up so far for next year, I don't really think a whole new 2016 thread is really warranted so I'm just posting it here. Noteworthy: the return of Transparent 2x4 bricks! Quote
Gnac Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Each one of these sets so far has had about 2-3 builds that have really impressed me. The parrot and the Ghetto Blaster could be Creator polybag material - in fact the parrot is much better than 30472. Quote
tafkatb Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 On second thought, those clear 2x4s might just be there to prop up other pieces and just haven't been edited out of the photo yet, like those radar dishes the minifigs were standing on in some of the Star Wars sets. I will try not to get my hopes up... Quote
