The little Creator train 31015

This little train #31015 (MSRP $4.99) was something I bought just to get my order over the threshhold for free shipping but it's a lot more fun than I imagined. I bought two so I could make a car for the engine to pull... Now I'm going to order a few more so I have pieces to make some custom cars.

Anyway I know officially these don't fit on LEGO tracks but wondering if anyone had any success making some kind of custom track that does work?

You can make your own tracks with straight rails on 6x1 or 6x2 plates. Also there are some 4 wide curve tracks you can use from sets like Alien Mothership. http://brickset.com/sets/7065-1/Alien-Mothership

ha, I had the same experience back when I bought 4837, these little trains are addictive. anyway I found that grey/blue era rails work quite well with these, well unless you want a curve.
