colmoore Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) Hi all, 8640 Polar Copter was released in 1986 (when I was 10) and was in my opinion one of the coolest Technic sets of it's day. I think it’s a set that the younger modelers of today would appreciate so I have re-engineered it using new bricks and made a couple of modifications and additions. For anyone wishing to build their own please message me for the .lxf file. It would be great to see other users builds on this thread. I hope you like it :) Modifications and additions: Tidier rear fuselage New red/yellow trim Modified gearbox Modified main rotor blades Modified undercarriage supports (I think the original model had an illegal fit. The front support is now a 3-4-5 triangle) Added red and green navigation lights Modified joystick and added console with gauges Modified canopy using 135° connectors Edited October 24, 2014 by Alasdair Ryan Resized Images (be sure to read the site guidelines) Quote
miguev Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Nice remake! I loved this set, a relative got me one for my birthday when I already had one, because she didn't know. She never got over it ("oh no, he already had it, what a FAIL!") but I was super-happy :) Quote
