When converting a train say the 60051- High speed passenger train from PF to 9v, I know that I have to change out the motor and everything, but do all the wheel sets have to be changed or will they work on the metal tracks.? Reason I'm asking is I am going to use the 60051 as a subway train and the ir doesn't go around corners Quote

I borrowed a 9V train motor and 9V tracks and ran all day at an event. I didn't encountered any problems with wheels from current train sets in the cars. It's all supposed to be compatible from what I read. The only derailments I got were kids knocking the train over. The stanchions and do not touch signs don't work. Quote

I was helping my FIL repair his electric fence on this farm a couple of summers ago. It ran off a 12V battery recharged by a solar panel. It works well for cows. I may get in trouble using it on adults and kids who don't obey the signage. One thing I learn is no need to superdetail your trains at these events with small parts. You'll only end up on your hands and knees looking for them or they disappear after the Great Fall. Back on topic. It was extremely easy to remove my boogie and attach my friend's 9V motor to my train. Put on the tracks and run. There was nothing else to change. I think if you design your MOC with PF and 9V in mind then it's pretty easy to switch between the two. Quote
