This set sounds more promising then the skeleton ship attack, let's just hope it isn't terribly overpriced. I'm not sure about the troll, though. Even if it is fully articulated (or more so than the last troll) it's still going to be handicapped by the juniorization factor. (As in most of its parts can't be reused like basic bricks.) This is why I'm also not a big fan of the giant dragons.

Still, it's good to see TLC explore new directions.

By the way, would anyone be interested in trading figs/skeletons for unwanted trolls?

Depends on how much I like them, but I might be interested in trading some of the new skellies for new trolls

Hey, what's with all that pessimism? So far, did this Castle line disappoint you? If not, try to think positive!

I think we're all like little abused puppy dogs, who've gotten so used to being abused they are afraid of everyone for fear of being abused again. We AFOLs gotten so used to being disappointed by new products (viking beards, the return of Castle that turned out to be KK2, new greys, etc.) that we see every potential new line or set as likely to disappoint. We don't want to get our hopes up.

Personally, I'm hopeful, but wary... X-D

Sure hope your right about that design Shakar, those trolls look great and hopefully both arms will be moveable.

I'm going to have to say yes on that one. Definitely quite poseable.

Hmmmm. Interesting news about the new set. I wonder if its the only set that going to contain dwarves and trolls. Seeing those pictures a few days ago I thought that dwarves and trolls will be the new factions in 2008.

I really hope to see this set! It sounds excellent! I'll have to get at least 2. :-P

I haven't seen the new catalogue in Toyworld yet. I want it!

What i like is the fact that TLC are finally expanding the Castle line to more factions, for years its just been knights vs knights/skelies etc.

I fully welcome trolls and dwarfs just for the freshness they will bring with them, lets hope TLC comes up with more for this line.

Now all we need is some good colour pics. :-)

Brilliant metaphor, I'd say. I'm too young to be considered an AFOL but I agree with what you said (except the new greys- I really don't mind them, although I can see the reasons of those who don't like them). We Castle fans received a bad treatment for many years with KK, due to weird colours, overpriced sets, poor minifig count-price ratio, not so good set designs, many minifigs with no torso printing, etc...

I think that Lego is learning from its mistakes: this year the designs of the Castle sets are, IMO, a lot better than those of the KK sets, the minifigs look very good and are included in generous amounts in the sets. With the quality of the sets this year, I certainly have faith in this new set.

A description of the set by the CC member who discovered it, MarioDAlessio:

I was posting more as a heads up on the set 7036 Dwarfs Mining.

I have forwarded a copy of the scanned Aust/NZ Castle catalogue pages to the administrators.

Went looking today. Aside from finding the new city sets (and buying the 7990 Cement Mixer) there was no sign of the new catalog. Sorry. I'll look again next week but hopefully pictures will emerge sooner.

Tks alot !! I cannot wait for pics of that set !!

Exactly !! I really like Athos and your view on this line !!

I really think as a general feeling that TLC really did a lot of thinking on how to please a broader audience with adding lots of MFs and accessories with a good set design at reasonable prices !! Look at all the lines that benefited from TLC's improvements: SW, City and Castle !!

Look what TLC did of a hardcore SW fan: a Castle fan wanting huge armies :-D I even bought 5 more small sets 8-

Have to agree with Shakar, Athos and *yoda* these new desgins for sets and look of them has really sucked me back into the castle line, i really didnt think i would ever buy any castle related sets ever again.

The chance to build an army of skelies at a low price is just too hard to resist.

If this has been discussed somewhere else, please disregard.

It appears that the new Dwarf Mining set for the Castle theme has been confirmed. Link here: Dwarfs Mining

Brickset lists the set as # 7026 Dwarfs Mining. No picture has been posted.

I'm really looking forward to a new Lego mine. I have special uses for such a set if it looks good. *wub*

*I sense a disturbance in the force*
Maybe the CC member simply typed the wrong code. Or BL did (highly unlikely, but possible).
