Anybody get word from TLG on whether or not they are going to make a replacement/corrected sticker for the plaque yet?

I mean a spelling error should get a correction, right?

I still hope the second production run (namely the set available after it went backorder) will have the correct sticker. Perhaps it won't happen but I still hope :classic:

Wow, they processed the order really quick. :o

I ordered it late Tuesday night and they had it shipped by Wednesday and it's expected to get here by Friday.

Super excited to finally build the thing.

That's phenomenally awesome! I ordered it on the 1st, shipped on the 6th, and, owing to the fact that I live Down Under, will most likely not arrive until the end of next week :( Why oh why did I leave Poland!

Lego shop is indeed super quick. Delivery it's also very fast. On site they say express delivery requires up to 3 working days but I always got the order the very next day :classic:

Happy building and May the Brick be with You :classic:

It's quite odd because I've had mixed experiences with them. I've ordered a small set from them as a birthday gift for my younger brother and it didn't arrive until around a month after I placed the order. I've ordered the Jedi Interceptor and that took an average time of about a week. But dang if I ain't surprised that a set as large as the UCS Slave I is the fastest one to ship.

Perhaps different regions, different shipping experiences

I live in Italy and they ship from their warehouse in Belgium so orders usually arrive in less than 24 hours :classic:

That's a possibility! Funnily enough, each of the three times I've ordered sets on the S@H were all in different states in the US.

US are much larger so the package has to cover more distance than it does when they ship orders to me. From Belgium it goes to Germany (less than 1 hour) then from Germany hub to Italy I think it takes another hour. Add all the procedures etc and it arrives in less than 24 hours. I think that's the reason.

I always choose express delivery to not have problems. I know it costs but at least I don't have to spend whole days talking with costumer services :classic:

I would've done the Express Delivery if I could, but I recently started uni and have a PO Box now. LEGO doesn't do any of the additional shipping methods to PO Boxes. :sadnew:

I understand. Consider here in Europe, unless I'm mistaken, they simply don't ship to PO Box. Not even the "standard shipping" :classic:

Mine finally arrived yesterday. It's truly impressive and a very enjoyable build.

Only downside for me is that the large information sticker is badly printed. The blue colouring and the black background of the ship "bleeds" through the text making it almost illegible. Has anyone else seen this on theirs?

Anyway, I've written to customer service about it, hopefully they can send me a replacement.

I just received an email from Lego customer service saying that my replacement sticker sheet is on it's way.

No other information or message and no questions asked, I'm guessing that means they are aware of the problem?

either that or someone processed the request as a damaged part and you'll get a brand new sticker sheet complete with "Tracor" (similar happened to me in the past on a different set)

Well, on my sticker the spelling error wasn't visible due to the bad printing  so I didn't even mention that, I only complained about the bad printing. I will be happy when I get a properly printed sticker, the corrected spelling would be a bonus but I'm not holding my breath.

Is there a precedent for this kind of spelling error being fixed later on by Lego?

It's nice they solved the problem. Lego costumer service has been always very helpful every time I contacted them :classic:

Let's hope they will fix the sticker typo :classic:

Let us know if they fixed the typo because I will contact them too!

I'll definitely post back when I have the replacement and let you all know.

The pictures really don't do the set justice. Not only is the set impressive from a build technique standpoint, but it looks fantastic in real life.

Other than the odd choice of blue color for the engines, I have no real complaints. The stickers didn't end up upsetting me nearly as much as I thought they would.

To anyone who still is unsure wether to buy it or not:

It not only looks awesome, is super-sturdy and includes some nicely detailed minifigs, building it was also a blast.

Great Job by Hans Burkhard Schlömer.

I know in the end I'll buy it  I haven't yet because I already have the previous Slave I. Of course it is not as detailed like the current one but I planned to get other sets before getting an improved Slave I :classic:

I have been building this slowly, to savor the experience. It's a fantastic build, and I just finished bag 11 last night... Although there is a tiny bit of movement of the side I just made, I don't understand how people were complaining about bits falling off. I agree, with DarthBrickus, it's super-sturdy, I can pick it up by the tail and swoosh it. :)

...It's huge though, so I have to be careful not to hit anything with it.

Btw, did anyone notice that the plague is facing sideways in the picture on the box, but when you follow the instructions, it's on the front and slightly covered by Slave I's nose?

Posted

I haven't made the stand yet, but looking at the instructions, it looks like a quick swap between the hinges and the grille pieces would make it the other way if you'd prefer it on the side.

What a beautiful ship...

I have it on my shelf alongside its three most recent incarnations (That is to say, all but the Slave I from 2000).
