HJR-Holland Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Hello all, Thought this might already be here, but it seems I'm the first here to post about Star Wars Rebels. Saw the first episode yesterday evening, and liked it. it wasn't epic, but it was nice. The style is somewhat different than the Clone Wars cartoons, although one can see parallels between the two: - Big crowd are a rare thing in the star Wars universe - The backgrounds are often plain and simple - Shooting straight still seems impossible - It's a kids show, which means all characters are (for the time being) a bit single-emotion-caricatures; let's see how that develops. I look at these cartoons mostly for the vehicles if I'm honest, and there were some nice ones in there: - the Ghost - AT-DP - Imperial cruiser (marginally larger with four TIEs connected to it; I'd love to see how LEGO would do that one) - Imperial Star Destroyer - TIE Fighters - Imperial Speeder Bike - Wookie Gunship For someone growing up with the original movies, it was great to see new content with all the favourites: TIEs! Stormtroopers! Awesome to see those in this series; hope to see a lot more of them. It was peculiar to see that the Stormtroopers were cannon fodder in the series; in the Clone Wars I hardly saw Clone Troopers die; but in this series they die by the dozen... They still can't shoot properly though; in the midst of the end battle shots fly everywhere, but never seems to hit anyone or anything... Room for improvement there I think. I didn't like the design of the Wookies by the way. I understand that they can't production-technically design every hair, but this didn't look great; I now understand the 'peculiar' versions of LEGO a lot better. Bonus points for the kid-Wookie though; he looks exactly like Lumpy from the Christmas Special So, what did you think about the first episode? I think it was a good start, and look forward to much more; bring it on
Mr Man Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 There is a discussion for Rebels in the Culture and Multimedia section (here- http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82660&hl=rebels) .
HJR-Holland Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 Errr... that's what you get when you never EVER visit other parts of this forum
ChiefPie Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I haven't seen it yet but I'm thinking if I want to see. You are right about the clones dieing but I must say there were quite a couple episodes that clones died. The one I rennet that was only one clone was when grievous smashed his chest with his foot.
Brickdoctor Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Mr Man is correct; this should be discussed in the topic in Culture and Multimedia.
