Black-Build Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 The tires you've got now sure look realistic. Quote
PROlego Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 But like Sariel already said, then you'll have to search in 15 pages... My English is quite bad, so you didn't understood, I was telling him to ask this in the 3rd party tyres topic instead of creating a new one, not searching for it, but only posting the question in the other topic to keep all the information there. Sorry for the off topic. Quote
Sariel Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 However those are 44mm wide vs 34mm of the Lego rims, but wider isn't necessarely so bad, I think they can probably fit but is hard to tell. Good point, then this smaller version may be safer, it's 38 mm wide: http://www.ebay.pl/itm/GOMME-INTERCO-TSL-1-9-STANDARD-G9-PER-SCALER-PROLINE-GPPRL1163-14-GOMME-PER-AUT-/361045458956?pt=Modellismo_Dinamico&hash=item540ffc800c&_uhb=1 Quote

Sariel Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) So you not only have all LEGO Technic in the known universe, but some wicked Traxxas too, you lucky man ;) I guess I'll go for the 38mm wide Prolines, then. The fact that stock tires don't exactly match the look of Tumbler's tires may simply result from Tumbler's weight. And sorry for starting a new topic, but this is about finding very specific kind of tires, while the other one is about general-purpose 3rd party tires Edited September 17, 2014 by Sariel Quote
Blakbird Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 So you not only have all LEGO Technic in the known universe, but some wicked Traxxas too, you lucky man ;) Yes, I have the E-Revo but I broke a rear drive shaft last night doing back flips from a standing stop. I have to make repairs pretty regularly. This just goes to show that even with a purpose built R/C model there are still lots of failures. Amazing LEGO R/C works as well as it does. While charging my batteries last night I was also reminded why LEGO cars won't ever perform very well (other than the structural reasons). PF battery box max current is 1A at 9V or 9W. My E-Revo batteries have a max current of 250A (!!!) at 24V or 6000W. It is hard to compare two products when one has 666 times more power than the other. I wonder if that ratio is a coincidence..... Nazgarot Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) I would recommend these: http://store.rc4wd.com/Rock-Crusher-XT-19-Tires_p_691.html Dimensions: Outer Diameter: 4.25" (107mm) Width: 1.53" (38.9mm) Inner Diameter: 1.9" (48mm) I've been using them a bit, and they fit very snugly on Lego rims. I think both size and design should be a close match. Will try to upload a few pics of them tomorrow. On Lego rims they get a bit more "balloony", so they should be even more similar. I can also recommend their little brother for this rim (43.2mm D. x 26mm Technic Racing Small). -ED- EDIT: Ops, didn't read the second page. The once that have original pattern will of course fit better. Edited September 17, 2014 by Nazgarot Quote
aol000xw Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) Those RC4WD are expensive but incredibly soft and tacky, so lots of grip. GMade for example makes somethig similar quite cheap, soft too but not so much and way less tacky, and then there are the chinese brands, not that soft, but still ways softer than anything Lego and very very cheap. Sorry for the off topic. Fine I understand now you want to ask questions here and not on the 15 page topic as its become more of a reference article - but my point is if you do read the 15 pages , you might not need to ask the question(s) in the first place as they may have been answered already in the 15 pages. still this is a great thread already with some new designs I had not seen before... Sariel Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 Thank you for all the suggestions, in the end I bought the Proline 109mm Super Swampers, they're a bit costly but look spot-on in terms of tread and size: http://prolineracing.com/tires/interco-tsl-sx-super-swamper-1.9/ Quote

Sariel Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) These tires of yours are bigger than car's body! Edited September 18, 2014 by Sariel Quote
