I got a childhood set today which will be a display piece. However, the seller haven't exactly cleaned it to the stage I prefer. How do you do that without putting prints on blocks at risk, but still get rid of all the gunk in the crooks and crannies?

Dish soap and warm water (but not over 40°C) and eventually helping yourself with a toothbrush. If it's print and not stickers it should be all fine. For stickers just don't let them sit in the water for too long and you should be good too.
