paulydactyl Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Hello everyone! My name is Paul and I live near Arlington, Washington, United States (it's about 50mi/80km north of Seattle). I'm a mechanical engineer at the Boeing Company in Everett, WA. I work on the 747-8 program (real airplanes are made of aluminum). I'm in my mid 40s and like many AFOLs, rediscovered the joy of LEGO several years ago after "growing out of them" in my early teens. I am mostly interested in City sets and the modular buildings (I have 7 now), but just a few months ago I picked up a train set on a whim, and now I'm hooked! I have the recently-retired Red Cargo train, the new blue Cargo Train, and the new high-speed Passenger Train, as well as the old and the new Train Stations. I also love the Minifigures series; I have almost all of them past Series 1. I came across EB whilst looking for some train layout ideas, but I've actually been looking for some kind of community of other adult LEGO enthusiasts for a while now, and the local LUGs seem to be mostly inactive so I'm excited about this opportunity to meet others from around the world! My proudest LEGO accomplishment is that I recently (finally) have a dedicated room for my layout!! It's a rather small room, but I've got a decent little layout started. It's not much, but it's a start, and it sure is awesome to have a LEGO room!!! My 5 year old nephew calls it "our" LEGO room, which is amazing in its own right. :) Anyway, thanks for having me. I look forward to talking to you! Cheers, PB Quote
