Guest RangerDog Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) Hey, for my city i want to make a SWAT truck, but i know there is a progam you can build youre costum set, and than buy it. But i dont know where and how to build it. Edited September 15, 2014 by RangerDog Created more descriptive topic heading Quote
mrfuture Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Lego Digital Designer (LDD) was like that in the beginning but Lego later closed that part of the program down. I think the is no other alternative at the moment. But you can save a inventory list (BOM list) of the model and use Bricklink to buy the parts you need. Type the list into a wanted list and you have control on what parts you have ordered. Quote
Guest RangerDog Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Okay, well i have truly no idea, i can build a liittle bit by myself, but mayby can anyone help me, with making a SWAT car. (No idea if it is posible) Quote
Superkalle Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Usually the best way to learn how to design LEGO models is to start with somehing yourself, maybe based on an official LEGO set, and then post that (just to show you have made some inital effort). Then people are usually more willing to help. In any case the LDD forum is not the best place to ask for help to build something for you. You are better of asking in the Town Forum. If you want inspiration for LDD models, look at our official sets topic. Quote
plew2000 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Yeah I wish Lego had not removed that awesome add on from LDD. What I usually have to do is buy some pieces of eBay and build my own MOC. Good luck. Quote
Guest RangerDog Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Okay, well i made a house, but where can i post it, just in my own town topic? Quote
Superkalle Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Post it as a new topic in the Town forum if you want feedback from other users and want to discuss it: Quote
Guest RangerDog Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Okay, thanks! Does it also counts if you change a car, i worked today and yesterday to make a fire car from a tow ladder to a rescue car. Quote
Guest RangerDog Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Can somebody give me a guide or something, I tried to build a MOC building in LDD, but it kinda completly failed, so mayby someone can help me with making one. (So i can learn how). Quote
mrfuture Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Here is what i did for a car. I was looking at the set pictures at Brickset.com. I found a car that was some what something like what i want. For exmaple a car with a lift is something simular to a lorry or flattbed car if you remove the lift and add a few parts. Then i noted the set nr then searched for it in the Sets created in LDD her on Eurobricks. Downloaded the file and loadet into LDD. And start to remove and add new parts /change color to it looks what you want. In another case I did the same but in the end i ended to redesign the whole car. But then you get a idea of what parts is used for a standard Lego car. After this you can do as i earlier wrote. Quote
Guest RangerDog Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Okay thanks! Where can you find the downloads? Quote
Superkalle Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Rangerdog, you are beginning to tempt our patience now. You are asking where to find the official sets LDD files. If you would read a few posts up, you'll find that I already gave you that link. Please take some time to carefully ready replies from those who try to help. Quote
Guest RangerDog Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Well, i saw that link, but i mean unofficial sets, like these: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=65596 Or is it better to just better to train with the official? Quote
mrfuture Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I think i was realy clear in my dirrection without go to the basic to where and how to find. If you try what i and other wrote then you may find it. Here is the direct link to the official sets http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41226 but you need to know how to search with your browser and witch set you want to download. If not it could be a inpossible job to find the set you want. Quote
