	Admittedly I have not bought any new sets, this year, so as I was looking into the latest offerings, I was floored by the prices and vowed not to buy any new sets.
</p>

<p>
	Turns out I was viewing Australian site instead of North American, talk about sticker shock, wow.
</p>

<p>
	I am acutely aware of the price of LEGO, it has always been an expensive hobby, not for everyone. In my case, I have certainly been buying less with each passing year. I have also noticed that nearly every thread about new sets makes mention of high prices, much moreso than previous years.
</p>

<p>
	Soon I am afraid I will simply no longer be able to afford lego. Which makes me wonder do others have a limit as to how much is too much, or do you just accept it and keep buying?
</p>

<p>
	Fortunately I have amassed enough lego to keep me busy for the rest of my life and would be okay just buying some loose parts here and there.
</p>

<p>
	I understand this is a touchy subject for many and some even consider it bad form to complain.
</p>

<p>
	When if ever will the average consumer say, enough is enough, screw you TLG?

	Figured it's about time for a dedicated thread for this stuff. Apologies if this is not the right place for it, or if one was already made (I couldn't see one when I searched). All images come from LEGO's website, none of these are leaked.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="EmmeU3f.png" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="44.24" height="453" width="1024" src="https://i.imgur.com/EmmeU3f.png" />
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:36px;">What is LEGO Smart Play?</span>
</p>

<p>
	Smart Play is LEGO's next foray into the toys-to-life/smart toy market. Imagine LEGO Mario, but the Mario tech shrunk down into the size of a 2x4 brick.
</p>

<p>
	For those unfamiliar, the LEGO Mario figure has sounds, lights, a scanner, and can connect to the LEGO Mario app. The scanner used an optical sensor combined with a color sensor to allow the Mario figure to react to certain things. If you put it on a red tile, it will treat it as lava. If you put it on a special 2x2 tile with a code, it will scan the code and react with sounds or lights. By connecting LEGO Mario to the app using Bluetooth, you are able to download updates that give new code tile information to the figure. If you purchase the other variants, Luigi and Peach, they can interact with each other.
</p>

<p>
	The smart brick is an evolution of the technology I just described. By inserting the brick into various builds, its function will change. Place it in a volcano and it will glow red and rumble. Place it in a helicopter, it will provide headlights and make helicopter noises. Put it in a creature, and it can roar when you move it. LEGO's write up was about it was this:
</p>

<blockquote class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote="">
	<div class="ipsQuote_citation">
		Quote
	</div>

	<div class="ipsQuote_contents">
		<p>
			<strong>The smartest LEGO brick we've ever built</strong>
		</p>

		<p>
			The new LEGO brick is smart. You play with it and it responds directly to everything you do. The way you hold it. The way you move it. Even the way you build and rebuild your set. You're in complete control. Meet a very smart brick that knows how to play smart — and how to play silly too.
		</p>
	</div>
</blockquote>

<p>
	It was first tested with City-Jungle sets in mid-2024 in the UK test market. <a href="https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/forums/topic/199218-lego-city-2025-sets-leaks-rumours-discussion-animals-too/" rel="">You can read the discussion around it then here.</a>
</p>

<p>
	The test sets were as follows: <a href="https://brickset.com/sets/60691-1/Jungle-Explorer-Base-Camp" rel="external nofollow">60691 Jungle Explorer Base Camp</a>, <a href="https://brickset.com/sets/60692-1/The-Lost-Crocodile-Temple" rel="external nofollow">60692 The Lost Crocodile Temple</a>, and <a href="https://brickset.com/sets/60693-1/Survivor-Island-Seaplane" rel="external nofollow">60693 Survivor Island Seaplane</a>. Only the explorer base camp included the brick, but all three sets utilized it. This also follows the Mario formula, with a starter set then auxiliary sets to utilize it.
</p>

<p>
	60691 included the smart brick, a wireless charger for the smart brick, and three electronic minifigures. These minifigs are capable of sensing the smart brick and are able to play sounds.

<p>
	Thanks to reliable sources for rumors, we know the brick will be capable of connecting to apps and games, potentially even games like Fortnite. It is currently unknown how it exactly it would be implemented into stuff like that.
</p>

<p>
	What we do know is that LEGO will be making a very big push for this in 2026, with it being in everything from 4+ Bluey sets to Technic sets aimed at teens. It will be in original themes and licensed themes like Star Wars and Pokemon. I will be sure to keep this thread updated with more information as we get it.

	I own a red Classic Space helmet with a streak of black coming from the top center and going down all the way along the side. It looks the same on the inside. I know that they used solid pre colored red plastic pellets back then so it can unlikely be black dye. Some other areas on the helmet have small spots of black as well and it is clearly visible that the black has mixed with the red plastic. Could it be oil from the molding machine? Do you have any ideas or similar pieces?

<p>
	A friend of mine just built a GB, and I was quite surprised that hers did NOT have the "tits" buttons, the injection marks are a lot better located!
</p>

<p>
	That requires a new mould, or at least a change, and I don't think that different factories would have different moulds for no reason. So most likely LEGO fixed that on purpose.
</p>

<p>
	Now the questions is how to get them... surely they're not gonna have a different ID and getting them from BL or PAB will most likely result in the bad-looking ones.

	Obviously this is pretty subjective, based on what themes you like and when you grew up. I think 2009 deserves to be in contention, for licensed themes you had Star Wars in it's golden age, Indiana Jones, and Spongebob. For unlicensed themes you had Power miners, Space police 3, Bionicle, pirates, and Fantasy Era Castle.

	So… in my spare time I’ve been messing around with Lego Studio and design my kid’s toys in digital Lego form.<br />
	One thing led to another, and boom — I opened a YouTube channel to share the build instructions.
</p>

<p>
	Every creation is made entirely from official, real‑world Lego pieces, which you can buy all the parts on Bricklink.
</p>

<p>
	The channel is still a tiny baby startup, so if you’ve got any ideas, feedback, or wild themes you want me to build in the future,<br />
	throw them in here and let’s brainstorm together, inspiration welcome~

	And of course… Like, Share, Subscribe — Thanks!<br />

<p>In the fall of 2008, CUUSOO SYSTEM and the LEGO Group teamed up to launch the LEGO CUUSOO crowdsourcing experiment. Initially, the site was only available in Japanese. But the promising results from the pilot led to the launch of the international LEGO CUUSOO beta site in the fall of 2011. Today, the LEGO Group is very happy to announce that the partnership with CUUSOO SYSTEM, has been such a success that we have decided to integrate the CUUSOO concept more closely into the LEGO experience called LEGO Ideas. We are grateful for the many years of collaboration and experimentation between our two companies and wish CUUSOO SYSTEM continued success, building CUUSOO as an open crowdsourcing platform for brands to connect with their fans on cuusoo.com.</p>
<p>Practical Information</p>
<p>All projects, supports, comments, profiles, and other data from LEGO CUUSOO will be automatically migrated to LEGO Ideas. When LEGO Ideas goes online April 30th you'll be able to sign in with a LEGO ID, find your old LEGO CUUSOO account, and connect to it on LEGO Ideas after clicking a confirmation link we will send you via email.</p>
<p>NOTICE: Please ensure you have access to the email address associated with your LEGO CUUSOO account, you will need this to access your old profile and projects on LEGO Ideas.</p>
<p>The LEGO CUUSOO domain will redirect to LEGO Ideas for 6 months. During that time, links to your projects on LEGO CUUSOO will automatically redirect to your project page on LEGO Ideas. We recommend you update links to your projects because after November 1, 2014, all links to LEGO CUUSOO will stop redirecting.</p>
<p>Effective April 30, 2014, the LEGO CUUSOO Terms of Service will terminate, meaning at that time the agreement at <a href="http://lego.cuusoo.com/terms/" rel="external nofollow">http://lego.cuusoo.com/terms/</a> will no longer be in force and the LEGO Ideas Terms of Service version 1.0 will go into immediate effect. Any and all rights you have assigned to LEGO under the LEGO CUUSOO Terms of Service will remain assigned to LEGO under the LEGO Ideas Terms of Service version 1.0.</p>
<p>Once LEGO Ideas launches, you'll be able to continue promoting your existing projects and participate on the new platform by accepting our new Terms of Service as explained below. I am using Brickstore for quite a while and there is one annoying thing in it: The figures are not placed in the centre of the coloms, something which is easy to do in Excel.<br />
	When I print out a list, in some type of colomns (f.i. quantity) is lined out to the right side. Then it's so close to the next colomn which is lined out left, that you hardly see that these are two figures and not one.
</p>

<p>
	I have looked around to see if I can line out it myself, but nothing found.<br />
	Anyone with a solution for this. (I requested the author, but never had a reaction)

	Hi everyone,
</p>

<p>
	I wanted to share a recent find with the history buffs here at Eurobricks. Being based in Denmark, I occasionally come across pieces from the "Wood Era," but I think this one is quite special.
</p>

<p>
	It is an original <b>LEGO Wooden Dog (model 215/a)</b>, which I believe dates back to around 1937. What struck me about this piece is the condition of the original pull-string and the construction of the wheels—it’s not often you see them this well-preserved after nearly 90 years.
</p>

<p>
	I’m curious to hear from the experts here:
</p>

<ol start="1">
	<li>
		<p>
			Based on the wheel design and the "LEGO" marking, can anyone confirm if this is the earliest 1930s version?
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			How many of these are still known to exist in private collections today?
		</p>
	</li>
</ol>

<p>
	I have decided to let this piece go to a new home to focus my collection elsewhere, so it is currently up for auction on Tradera. However, I would love to get some more historical context before it potentially leaves Denmark.
</p>

<p>
	<b>You can see the photos and auction details here:</b> <a href="https://www.tradera.com/da/item/2944/717769514/lego-wood-dog-tr%C3%A6hund-trahund-215-a-hund-ruharet-1937-rare" rel="external nofollow">https://www.tradera.com/da/item/2944/717769514/lego-wood-dog-træhund-trahund-215-a-hund-ruharet-1937-rare</a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this early piece of LEGO craftsmanship

	Hi everyone,
</p>

<p dir="ltr">
	As a long-time LEGO enthusiast, my minifigure collection has grown way beyond what a simple spreadsheet can handle. I wanted a more visual and "smart" way to manage my army, so I decided to build <b>Minifig-hub.com</b>.
</p>

<p dir="ltr">
	<b>Why I built this:</b>
</p>

<ul>
	<li dir="ltr">
		<b>Visual Cataloging</b>: Instead of just text, I wanted a clean dashboard to see my collection progress by theme (Star Wars, Castle, etc.).
	</li>
	<li dir="ltr">
		<b>Collection Value</b>: It’s not just about "selling," but knowing the overall market value and rarity of the figs I own.
	</li>
	<li dir="ltr">
		<b>Trending Figures</b>: I wanted to see which figures are getting attention in the community right now.
	</li>
	<li dir="ltr">
		<b>Clean &amp; Modern UI</b>: I focused on a minimalist white theme that looks great on both mobile and desktop.
	</li>
</ul>

<p dir="ltr">
	I'm constantly adding new features, and since this started as a passion project for a fellow collector, <b>your feedback is the most important thing to me.</b>
</p>

<p dir="ltr">
	What features are missing? What would make your collecting journey easier? Please let me know!

	Hi all -
</p>

<p>
	I've long admired <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/storagebackend/attachments/index.php?/profile/95622-henrysunset/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="95622" href="https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/storagebackend/attachments/index.php?/profile/95622-henrysunset/" rel="">@henrysunset</a>'s sorting labels and played around with creating some labels that I could print out to 8.5x11 sheets of Avery label paper. I wanted to include color on the labels as well as the color names I am most familiar with.
</p>

<p>
	My storage system is to sort by piece into large divided tupperwares, and then sort by color in polybags within the tupperware. I do this for a number of reasons, but primarily so that my collection is portable and I can build in multiple rooms.
</p>

<p>
	I've found that applying the Avery labels to the top of the polybags makes it so I can easily grab the right color of the right piece at a glance (see pics).
</p>

<p>
	Has anyone else done this before? I'd love to see your results.
</p>

	Here are some examples from 3023 / 1x2 plates

	There are far more Lego-centric YouTube channels these days than ever before. But that said, I don't really want to spend a ton of free time keeping up with so many new videos. I just want some up-to-date news and insightful reviews, and that's about it.
</p>

<p>
	So which do you recommend?
</p>

<p>
	I had been watching Jang and just2good for many years, but they just don't appeal to me anymore. I can see why tons of people like them. But Jang's all about the Patreon/Twitch streaming thing and "Let me tell you what I think about these photos I just saw," his review videos are repetitive (after watching him for five or six years), and, well... He seems to nag and be annoyed with his viewers most of the time. I dunno. Rarely a video passes without him making some back-handed remark about what he imagines viewers might be thinking or saying in the comments. It's weird 'cause he used to seem so affable.
</p>

<p>
	And just2good doesn't seem to be putting the work and planning into videos like he used to. I like his enthusiasm for Lego, and he seems super-positive, but the videos aren't really interesting.
</p>

<p>
	(Again, I'm just saying why I'm looking for new channels. If they still make your socks roll up and down, cool.)
</p>

<p>
	Are there any notably engaging, insightful, innovative YouTube channels I should check out? TIA!

<p>
	I'd like to share my collection of 330 2 x 4 LEGO test bricks that were made in the Marbon Chemicals Factory in Grangemouth by my father who worked there.  There is a wide variety of colours and marbling effects on the bricks as you will see from the attached photos.

	After watching Red One a couple of days ago in the movie theater I noticed that many movies and tv series feature brief cameos of Lego sets. In that movie a lot of sets were visible in a German toy store. When I was a kid I really enjoyed <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qi8UYed78z8&amp;list=PL21B683CB9A76BCDF&amp;index=19" rel="external nofollow">Sunes Jul</a>, a Sveriges Television Christmas calendar TV series. A copy of <a href="https://brickset.com/sets/6933-1/Spectral-Starguider" rel="external nofollow">6933 Spectral Starguider</a> is visible in several episodes. It is first seen being bought in a store along with other Lego sets and then opened as a Christmas present in the last episode I linked above, it is visible at 14:51 in the video.
</p>

<p>
	I remember seeing <a href="https://brickset.com/sets/6949-1/Robo-Guardian" rel="external nofollow">6949 Robo Guardian</a> in a Danish TV series where a kid is playing with it, I think it was <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna_Pihl" rel="external nofollow">Anna Pihl</a> but it could also have been <a href="https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbrydelsen" rel="external nofollow">Forbrydelsen</a>.
</p>

<p>
	Do you have more observations of Lego sets in movies or in television?

	All the multi device charging stations out there don’t quite work for me, so I thought why not make one out of LEGO. Apart from the obvious that charging devices generate heat (I didn’t get a clear answer from LEGO if this would be an issue or not) are there any reasons why that idea could fail to fly. I do think it’s awesome to have a set that once built, it’s useful

	I even consulted AI for help, but still couldn’t create other colors successfully. The AI said I needed to modify the preferences to access LU mode. I’m using version 4.3.11, yet even after following its instructions to make the tweaks, it still didn’t work.

	Hi everyone! <span class="ipsEmoji">👋</span>
</p>

<p>
	I just joined because I promised my 13-year-old nephew that I’d help him build a LEGO forest, and I really want to get it right! I’m planning to buy loose pieces and need advice on what to include.
</p>

<p>
	The main idea is a forest with around 20 trees (he wants to create a forest for his Harry Potter Legos, just so you know the style I need), but I’d love suggestions for anything that makes it look and feel natural, like:
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		Different tree parts (trunks, leaves, branches)
	</li>
	<li>
		Bushes, moss, grass elements
	</li>
	<li>
		Rocks or boulders/building pieces
	</li>
	<li>
		Ground details (flowers, vines, logs, stumps)
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	I’m completely new to picking specific parts, so it would be awesome if you could recommend specific <strong>LEGO part IDs or names</strong> and <strong>quantities of each</strong> (so the forest doesn’t look too sparse or too busy)!
</p>

<p>
	TIA for the help! Can’t wait to hear your suggestions! <span class="ipsEmoji">😊</span>

	Yes, I recognize that I am fortunate enough to even consider doing this.  In our house, we have a small room that we don't really use, other than it becoming the general "LEGO and other stuff goes in this room..."  Over the years, I made some very basic wooden shelves for three of the walls, but it's great at all.  It's not that I lack skill, so much as I lack vision for the space. :)
</p>

<p>
	The room is 10'x9' (or just over 300cm x 2007mm, or 3m x 2.7m).   There are two windows that are one of the shorter walls, and a very small closet on the other shorter wall.
</p>

<p>
	Our collection is largely LEGO Modular budlings, but it also includes a nice cache of Classic Space, early Castle, and some Friends sets.
</p>

<p>
	I would love to see examples of what people have done to dedicate a smaller space to both displaying completed LEGO sets and MOCS, as well as having space to actually build - ideally enough space for more than one person to build at a time.   Thanks!

I got the Bus Station and some Classic Space sets from my Dad's cousin (they were his sets originally). The minifigs from Knight's Procession I got in a lot that I bought and the policeman I got by mistake when I ordered a new police minifig and I only paid two euros for him.

	With all the buzz surrounding the new SMART bricks, I've been seeing a lot of hyperbole (particularly from bloggers and podcasters who clearly aren't seasoned AFOLs and are just trying to jump on the bandwagon) including two separate articles just today that called these bricks TLG's "greatest innovation of the past half century" and another that claimed these new bricks would "change the nature of Lego forever."
</p>

<p>
	Well, personally I doubt either claim is true, but it did get me thinking what really WAS the biggest, game changing innovation in Lego over the last fifty years?  New colors?  New Themes? Lego Star Wars? Lego Harry Potter? Friends? Mindstorms?
</p>

<p>
	I've been feeding my LEGO addiction for quite some time and have seen a lot of things come and go over the decades so maybe I have a skewed opinion about what really changed the nature of the toy or how people relate to it.  A lot of really cool sets and parts have been invented, some building on prior successes (EV3), some just not viable in the long haul (monorail), but if you had to point to some key thing that really had lasting impact, what would you choose?  A lowly headlight bright and the birth of SNOT?  Slabbies that evolved into the modern minifigure? (okay, technically slabbies came out like 51 years ago, but its only January so I'll cut them some slack.)
</p>

<p>
	Personally, I think I'd go with the introduction of Expert Builder/Technic sets in 1977.  Studless Technic was still years away, but pin-based construction and a system of axles, gears and motors really took Lego in new directions and added play features previously impossible to achieve.
</p>

<p>
	I'm curious, if YOU had to pick just one thing as LEGO's greatest innovation over the past five decades, what would YOU nominate and why?

	Dear Lego fans
</p>

<p>
	Some time ago I created some MOCs about real-life samurai Miyamoto Musashi, and a few years ago I posted them here. Now, I have found a website that, supposedly, sells my MOC without my consent. Look:
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://swpwak.sleepysheepy.shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;cPath=5354&amp;products_id=104927" rel="external nofollow">https://swpwak.sleepysheepy.shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;cPath=5354&amp;products_id=104927</a>
</p>

<p>
	I feel that I need to warn all Lego fans about this, because your MOCs may be in that site too.
</p>

<p>
	I created my MOC with Bricklink studio and the person who, supposedly, sell my MOC has used the same pic I created, so I guess is a scam. If they had recreated my MOC with real pieces, I guess they post their own photos instead of mine. But I don't really know. Do you know something about how that website works?
</p>

<p>
	Best regards

	Hey everyone! I’m getting ready for a big move and I’m trying to figure out the best way to protect and transport a couple of large LEGO sets.
</p>

<p>
	The two I’m most worried about are the Death Star (75159) and the UCS Millennium Falcon. They’re big, delicate, and I’d love to keep them in great shape both during the move and for display afterward.
</p>

<p>
	Has anyone moved with sets like these before? If so, what worked for you?
</p>

<p>
	My main idea so far is a custom acrylic display box that could double as a transport case. The problem is I’m not sure how to keep the model from shifting inside the box without putting stress on fragile parts. I’ve also seen people mention gluing services, but I’m really hesitant since I don’t want to permanently alter the sets or ruin their value.
</p>

<p>
	I’m open to any suggestions, whether it’s packing methods, partial disassembly strategies (although I would very much like to avoid this), storage containers, or display solutions. Thanks a lot!

	I'm not sure if it's considered sacrilege amongst hard-core LEGO-ers, but I've always been fond of mixing non-LEGO bits and pieces with <em>actual </em>LEGO bits and pieces. <br />
	And so, here's the latest incarnation.<br />
	Quite some time ago, I made my own version of a Series III Land-Rover and it was always my plan to RC it, using the gubbins from the Audi E-tron kit I bought not long after I got back into LEGO building. However, having just put together a 6x6 chassis with fully independent suspension, I rethought that idea and decided to use the RC LEGO stuff for that instead.<br />
	So, I rebuilt/widened the Land-Rover to fit on an RC car chassis <em>(which I've previously used for LEGO bodied hybrids), </em>turning it from a LWB into a SWB in the process, in order to fit it into scale.<br />

	What is the state of Brickshelf? Are there backups? Are all the models on there safe???
</p>

<p>
	I'll admit to rarely visiting Brickshelf in my early years as a fan, never appreciating the old aesthetic. Now, I love it. And more importantly I love some of the models I'm finding. I was just saying elsewhere I wish I could find some cool mocs that look like old Lego sets, well there's plenty there!
</p>

<p>
	On this note and case in point, What happened to all the models on mocpages?!
</p>

<p>
	As of writing this, creating a new account is disabled and password recovery is broken according to the home page. Has it been like that for long?
</p>

<p>
	Does anyone know if they could be going into some sort of preservation/archiving mode?

	I’d love to hear about the LEGO sets you’ve built recently! What set did you enjoy the most, and why? Did you make any custom modifications or MOCs? I’m always looking for inspiration for my next build and would love to see what’s sparking creativity in the community.

	Talking about thiss wheel family:<br />
	<img data-ratio="100.00" width="250" alt="250x250p.png?1658389355.1433797" src="https://cdn.rebrickable.com/media/thumbs/parts/ldraw/4/6248.png/250x250p.png?1658389355.1433797" /><br />
	<br />
	These wheel rims were quite popular in mid to late 20th century, and the newest variant displayed above endured until 2006, as it featured a modern Technic pin connection, making it easy to integrate with modern builds. But still, can't help but wonder, what uses would these studs have? Everything I can personally think of is putting something like this on the wheels:<br />
	<img data-ratio="100.00" width="250" alt="250x250p.jpg?1714160481.356402" src="https://cdn.rebrickable.com/media/thumbs/parts/elements/4211129.jpg/250x250p.jpg?1714160481.356402" />
</p>

<p>
	and then connecting them with a Technic brick or beam to produce a "wheels hidden inside the body" effect - possibly quite interesting. But nothing more. These wheels have now been retired for close to 20 years so maybe TLG didn't see much sense in continuing to make them either. But what do you guys think, do you have any practical uses for these studs? Mind showing me some models or MOCs that utilize them?
