After carefully searching through this subforum I am yet to find a single topic about which cartoons and anime you like, apart from the seperate show specific topics that seem to get locked or just slowly die.

This thread is for you to post about your favourite cartoons and anime, you can just make a list or you can give them a synopsis or a review, whatever you feel like. Discussion is welcome but no flaming/mean replies if you hate the series, film or OVA or whatever. You can say negative things about a show if you have to but no simply complaining about shows you don't like because it degenerates into personal insults...

I hope no one is "upset" by these guidelines but I'd like a nice place where I can discuss some 'toons I like and maybe find some who are familiar with the them, you can discuss MOCs you'd like to make from the series, characters you want to make custom figures of, anything as long as it is civil.

So, after that: I like Robotech, X-Men, Ruby Gloom, Storm Hawks, Batman Brave and the Bold, Astro Boy, Macross,most anything by Studio Ghibli and lots of others I can't list.

So yeah, post etc, enjoy.

Hello! I am a 22-year-old LEGO builder on the spectrum, I build mostly cars but I am also a fan of fantasy media and like building stuff from my favorite franchises.

I only like fiction media where anything taking in the real world is relatively realistic (like The Office, with no superheroes, time machines, aliens, etc) and anything in a fictional high fantasy world (a closed fantasy world like Middle Earth, not something "isekai") can happen since it has no relation to the real world.

Because of this, I feel like the only nerd who's only into a single fictional genre with very specific tastes. For example, 99% of Star Wars fans I see (something I like) are also into Marvel and superheroes (something I dislike), and whenever I see someone's LEGO MOC collection, it looks like they're practically into every movie/game series ever made!

This had made it incredibly difficult for me to be myself and find friends who I can relate to, and has made the idea of attending a Comic-Con or anime convention seem impossible so I was wondering if anybody else here feels the same or know people that feel the same.

Anyone still playing this? I love the latest update. I dug a tunnel from one base to another and stumbled on one of those new trial dungeons. I'm not ready for it yet but it's cool they've added so much over the years for free. I bought my copy for the Switch back in 2018 and it's been something I really enjoy. Really, I feel I've gotten 10 games worth of enjoyment out of Minecraft over the years and I still enjoy it just as much as I did back when I first started. Every time I play it's like a little story happens and I love that. This game might be the king of emergent storytelling!

Please share your Minecraft stories, thoughts, etc here! I was surprised that there wasn't already a thread about it here, I even searched but couldn't find one.

Hello.

Having used the search function and not found anything from the past two years asking members which comics they read, I decided to ask just that.

So... I read Justice Society of America (10 years worth of TPB). Any Elseworlds that take my fancy and Alan Moore's lesser known work for 2000AD and hit Top 10 series. I love The Sandman and I am slowly colecting all of the TPB. Geoff Johns is my favourite writer (I noticed that the books I liked best had him credited every time).

As for manga, I am reading CLAMP's Tsubasa and xxxHolic and I also read Fullmetal Alchemist. I have the complete The Big O manga (apart from two untranslated books) and all of Cyborg 009.

Webcomics? I read Shortpacked! Dr McNinja, Girl Genius, xkcd, chainsawsuit, Starslip, VG Cats, Megatokyo, Non-Adventures of Wonderella, Freak Angels, The 10 Doctors, Kitty Hawk, Legostar Galactica, Adventures of S-Team, Irregular Webcomic, Lego Space and Order of the Stick.

I may have missed some off the list (my favourite internet links know what I read anyway).

How would you read every Marvel comic?

Well, I should clarify that I'm planning to read probably most of Marvel's superhero comic books from the Silver Age (Fantastic Four #1) onward. There are probably some titles I'll skip, but there are still 20,000+ issues within scope. I'll likely not finish them, but I'm definitely going to start.

But since there are a lot of really detail-oriented, highly organized people in the Lego community, I wanted to ask: How would you organize all these issues and titles? I have a few options and may just end up jumbling them.

1. Strictly chronological. I have images of all the issues, and they've all been titled with the year, month, title, issue number, and page numbers (like "1961-11 - Fantastic Four - 001"), so it's easy to just pull a batch of 200+ issues into a folder, sort them numerically, and proceed come what may.

However, that really only works until some characters (Spider-Man, the X-Men, &c.) start getting multiple titles, crossovers span multiple titles (Maximum Carnage, X-Cutioner's Song), and there are numerous limited series to wade through, so:

2. Silo characters and franchises (Avengers titles, all X-titles, Wolverine), and read each title until there's a crossover/event, then go back and get caught up on all the other issues until I'm ready to read the crossover/event by shifting back and forth among the various titles.

3. ???

Two things I want to be sure of are to be fairly thorough (especially reading things I've never had the chance to read) and to keep pace across all the title (that is, not reading Amazing Spider-Man up to 1980, then going back and starting Daredevil in 1964). For the latter, I just want to experience the slow unfolding of the Marvel universe rather than bounce back and forth.

Anyway, just wanted to ask for some suggestions before I get underway. I ordered a tablet specifically for this project, and I'm going to arrange all the issues in PDFs and read them that way. Hopefully I can get something started before I leave for my 14-hour flight to Rome in mid-September!

So, there has been some Disney news lately, so I thought it would be time to start a general Disney discussion thread.

The biggest news for me is that there is a new DuckTales series coming in 2017!

DuckTales was my favorite show as a kid, so this is great news for me! I'm glad that a whole new generation of kids will be able to enjoy this awesome show. But at the same time, I'm worried how they will update it. Disney hardly produces any traditional animation for their TV shows anymore, so there is a good chance that it will be CGI like Mickey's Clubhouse and some of their other shows, or even worse, Flash animation like 7D *shudder*. If they put enough effort into it, I think it could actually work in CG. For example, I quite liked Scrooge's rendition in Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas, but of course traditional animation is always preferred.

Also, I really hope they don't change the theme song. It's one of the best and catchiest theme songs ever and I feel that any deviation would ruin it.

With this and the live action Chip'n'Dale: Rescue Rangers movie next year, it seems that the Disney Afternoon is making a comeback. What other shows would you like to see return? I'm hoping for Darkwing Duck next (which I'm surprised they haven't brought back yet considering the superhero craze right now).

Oh, and we got a trailer for Frozen Fever yesterday. I'm not interested in Cinderella (I don't see the point in making live action versions of Disney cartoons), but I wouldn't mind seeing this short film.

Everytime people started discussions about Star Wars that were not related with Lego, they got silenced by mods for not posting these in the right thread. The problem is: There was no right thread! Pixar Animation Studios and Films Discussion

I'm amazed there isn't already a discussion topic for this, but yea, let's use this thread to talk Pixar films and related things. Personally, I love most Pixar films. Y'all probably know that the Toy Story series is my favorite trilogy of films. The next Pixar film coming out is Monsters University, which is Pixar's first prequel film. There is also talks of Finding Nemo 2 coming out in the near future.

But, I particularly started this topic today as news just came out that the Cars spinoff, Planes, has been announced to be released in theaters on August 9th, 2013. It's kind of ironic as this is not going to be a film produced by Pixar. I will not be looking forward to Planes after the disaster that was Cars 2. Oh, and I really wonder if they'll make Planes LEGO sets.

I found it a bit odd that no one had started a topic for this movie yet, so I decided I would make one!

I'm really excited for this movie! I've never really read comics that much, but I've always been a fan of comic book movies, and Superman is probably my favourite superhero from theDC universe.

I really feel like the casting for this film is perfect, except for Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Also, Hans Zimmer is doing the music, which I can't wait for!

Nezha looks cool, MK and Macaque have the new outfits we've seen in recent releases, Red Son teams up with the good guys again. It all looks pretty cool.

I think Wukong's original teammates may appear because there's a pig in robes featured who could be Zhu Bajie, although it may just be Pigsy dressed up for some reason? Hopefully we'll get the original Journey to the West crew in minifigure form if they are in the show. Maybe that's why they downsized Sandy so they could reuse some of his parts for Sha Wujing?

Anyway, I'm excited for season 3 :)

[MOC] "Sweet Tooth" Cabin

"Sweet Tooth" Cabin

I recently saw the Netflix series Sweet Tooth and, while I'm not much into TV series, the first episode gave me a brilliant idea to build a new cabin in the woods.
And so here is the house of Gus, the half-deer "hybrid" child main character of the series, and of Pubba, his alleged father.

There are a lot of details and "part usage" that I have used in my previous builds and I enjoyed putting them all into this diorama.
Gus has the head of the faun from CMF series 15. From behind you can see the ears and a hint of horns, just like when Gus was growing up.

The diorama consists of 5 small shacks that can be joined together and create the shelter of Gus and Pubba.
In the background there are a series of trees of different colors and with different shapes. The whole build is placed on a base made mainly of dark tan wedge plates.
On the right a deer shyly appears, Gus thinks it's his mother, if you've seen the series you know what I'm talking about.

Star Trek Beyond is excellent! I absolutely love the new cast and the writing was very good. It's still sad about Anton Yelchin's recent and tragic death. He is an excellent Chekov! They just announced that Chekov will not be recast for Star Trek 4 and that's a choice I whole heartedly agree with. He's a young actor who may be best remembered for these movies.

It's the 50th Anniversary! Theres a new movie and television series on the way! Celebrate! I just came back from seeing Star Trek Beyond and realized there's no official thread for discussing Star Trek in this forum.

At first I assumed it to be just an unaffiliated parody account. However Jang has shown he can take himself not seriously, such as in HALL OF JANGS video, and the voiceovers of recent Gnaj videos have a very similar sounding voice to Jang's except pitched higher, so I'm starting to believe that if Gnaj isn't Jang himself, he has help from Jang.

What are your thoughts?

This is my first LEGO Unreal Engine 4 animation. It is about the Philippine-American War (1899-1902). It is my attempt at recreating a historical setting in the form of a LEGO film. Which old TV shows would you want to see make a comeback?

There's been shows that you've only just remembered the name of, and haven't aired since. For me, I remember catching a few episodes of 999 (basically Rescue 911 in the UK)...and I've literally just found a few episodes online. The closest thing to that is Close Calls on Camera. If they aired 999 reruns on another channel, that would be great...however, I don't think that would happen.

What I want to know is if there are any shows you would like to see make a comeback. Could be American, could be British. Heck, could come from anywhere around the globe.

If Rise of Skywalker fails/under performs, how would that affect LEGO?

So yeah, Disney lost a lot of the Star Wars fans after The Last Jedi, and that was reflected with Solo's incredible under performance at both the box office, and with toy sales. And the hype for Rise of Skywalker, which releases this December, is close to non-existent. And the early Box Office predictions from experts are also incredibly low. So I am wandering... If Rise of Skywalker ends up failing or under performing, how would that affect LEGO? Star Wars toy sales are very low at the moment, and that affecting LEGO too isn't excluded. After all, the Solo sets seemed to always be on clearance (from what I have heard).

What do you think?

New Star Wars animated series confirmed to start airing Fall 2014!

A video promoting the series can be found here. Dave Filoni, Kilian Plunkett and Joel Aon (all known for Star Wars: The Clone Wars) will be among those working on the series:

I don't know about the rest of you, but while I'm still bummed out about The Clone Wars being cancelled, I'm very excited for this show.
