	The monorail is a LEGO classic with a lot of die-hard fans. Mainly thanks to the Space and Town sets from 1987-1994. I think everyone who was a child back then dreamed of such a train during long sessions of leafing through the LEGO catalog. After watching Project Hail Mary, I knew I had to build the ships in Lego! Here they are in midi scale, I didn't want to build them too big. Blip-A is quite challenging to build due to the hoses, but I think the end result is worth it. Here are some photos of the ships together, the instructions for both are on my rebrickable!

	Welcome to the M:Tron Mining Base!
</p>

<p>
	I have always been a Classic Space fan, and because I also like gemstones, M:Trons are a blend of both space and crystals. I really enjoy the micro-scale LEGO building, especially because the detail is more packed into small areas, making designs smoother.
</p>

<p>
	I always imagined that M:Trons would mine Brickonium (the crystal) out of big mountains. The satellite towers that I included are used to help the freighters leave the atmosphere safely. I hope you enjoy my build! <span class="ipsEmoji">😄</span>
</p>

<p>
	Up first is the main image. You get a good look at what's going on.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="MTron_Mining_Base.jpg" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="100.00" height="682" width="1024" src="https://f005.backblazeb2.com/file/Brickshelf/bs01/gallery/Spaceman_/Documents/MTron_Mining_Base.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	This is the top view. Cool angle, right?
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="MTron_Mining_Base_7.jpg" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="100.00" height="682" width="1024" src="https://f005.backblazeb2.com/file/Brickshelf/bs01/gallery/Spaceman_/Space/MTron_Mining_Base_7.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	This is a shot from the side. Easier to see the action.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="MTron_Mining_Base_4.jpg" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="100.00" height="682" width="1024" src="https://f005.backblazeb2.com/file/Brickshelf/bs01/gallery/Spaceman_/Space/MTron_Mining_Base_4.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	Here is a good shot of the back. There are those greedy Blacktrons! You also get to see the satellite towers better too.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="MTron_Mining_Base_6.jpg" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="100.00" height="682" width="1024" src="https://f005.backblazeb2.com/file/Brickshelf/bs01/gallery/Spaceman_/Space/MTron_Mining_Base_6.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	Here is an up-close shot of the magnetic crane loading one of the freighters.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	And last, but not at all least: the minifigures! My personal favorite of the MOC. Every minifigure on the stand is represented in the set.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thank you very much for checking it out! I hope you like it!

</p>

<p>
	Alcea is a popular speederbike with Expedition crews and Explorers. A sturdy and reliable speeder that can run long range in relative comfort and manage whatever the weather can throw at it.
</p>

<p>
	A Dieselpunk style Speederbike, the second build from my self-imposed challenge of only working with the parts in the gifted boxes. I was in luck, there was some Pharoahs Quest  sets in the box, so minifig parts that match my favourite aesthetic and some consistent dark red colour. I love dark red and dark bley for building.

	Blacktron II has been featured here many times. This LEGO space series from 1991 won me over and I'm still collecting pieces for it. This time I created a field base out of them. Full text at <a href="http://bricks.kalais.net/post141" rel="external nofollow">http://bricks.kalais.net/post141</a>

<p>
	5AUS13, or "Saucy" to fans, is a racing speederbike piloted by ace racer Peel Carbine. Fast and nimble, the title this season is in sight!
</p>

<p>
	March arrives and like the new growth of nature, the urge to build a speederbike rises. Sure, the contest is defunct, but I love a speeder bike and I love to build.
</p>

<p>
	This one was a challenge to myself as it is only from parts available from some boxes of mixed LEGO I was gifted. My Mum's friend was getting her sons' old things sorted and wanted the LEGO to go to a good home. I am certainly a good home! I am actually supposed to be sorting it out into my collection (and pulling random marbles/game tokens/cars etc from the box) but I just had to build as I cam across parts. The base part is a mudguard and some SNOT brackets for the pilot seat and everything went on from there. When I ended up with the yellow and red colour scheme, the name Saucy popped into my head.
</p>

<p>
	It has been ages since I shared a MOC, but 2026 has been goodly creative for me so far!

<p>
	In August I did a contest with Student Scissors, he is an awesome TF builder.  I built the Decepticon Twins:

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#080809;font-size:15px;">
	<div>
		After a long time since my last work here is my latest new creation, based on the iconic first scene of the animated film <strong>Porco Rosso</strong>  by <strong>Hayao Miyazaki</strong>, Japan's greatest animation director and co-founder of Studio Ghibli.
	</div>

	<div>
		Between missions over the Adriatic Sea, the anthropomorphic bounty killer Porco Rosso keeps his seaplane in this secret cove, inspired by the stunning Stiniva Bay in Croatia.
	</div>

	<div>
		Porco Rosso is one of my favorite films by the Japanese director and is full of interesting ideas.
	</div>

	<div>
		This scene had been on my list for a long time, and I recently found the time and inspiration to build it. The diorama also includes the legendary red <strong>Savoia S.21</strong>, the Porco Rosso character, his tent, and many small tools as seen in the film.

		<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#080809;font-size:15px;">
			<strong>Savoia S.21</strong> is the fictional prototype seaplane used by <strong>Marco Pagot</strong>, aka <strong>Porco Rosso</strong>. This seaplane was named after SIAI S.21, an Italian racing flying boat built by SIAI for the 1921 Schneider Trophy race.
		</div>

		<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#080809;font-size:15px;">
			However, it does not closely resemble the real S.21, as it was modeled after another Italian seaplane, the Macchi M.33, with which it has in common the retracted cockpit and a single pair of wings.
		</div>
	</div>

	<div>
		Note the <strong>Fabuland</strong> piece I used for the seaplane's engine above the wings and the rare tent from an old Indiana Jones set.
	</div>

	<div>
		Hope you lile it!

<p>
	I thought it would be fun to have a thread just for sharing really awesome MOCs that other people created. I know looking at awesome stuff helps to get me inspired.
</p>

<p>
	My first ever Lego Space set was Starfleet Voyager. One really awesome Lego builder, Chris Giddens, created TWO remakes of this set that are both amazing!
</p>

<p>
	The first one is <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/fazoom/2182609328/in/album-72157603682704701/" rel="external nofollow">here</a>:

<p>
	His more recent one is <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/fazoom/9262704848/in/photostream/" rel="external nofollow">here</a>:
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="9262704848_ae13643ed2_z_d.jpg" class="ipsImage" height="361" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3680/9262704848_ae13643ed2_z_d.jpg" width="640" /></p>

<p>
	Two of my other favorite MOCs are by Peter Moris as part of his Classic Space Evolved set.
</p>

<p>
	This first one is remake of the Twin Starfire, a ridiculous set from the 80s that he made <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/rival_m/6408314565/in/album-72157624874025445/" rel="external nofollow">awesome</a>:

<p>
	The other one I really like of his is his <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/rival_m/5019769331/in/album-72157624874025445/" rel="external nofollow">radical remake</a> of FX Star Patroller, which is a mashup with the Mospeada Legioss &amp; Tread (also known as the Robotech Alpha and Beta fighters):

	Looks like we won't have a Space theme in 2026. So who wants to help me make one?
</p>

<p>
	Idea: Pick a set or two from 2025 or 2026. Use just the parts in those sets to make Space alt builds. Spaceships, rovers, walkers, and bases. You can use multiple copies of a set to make bigger MOCs if you want. The sets are just parts packs.
</p>

<p>
	The set(s) we choose need to be readily available (not retired). Obviously we want sets with windscreens and wheels and cool parts. Between Star Wars, Ninjago, and City, there should be plenty of sets with good parts.
</p>

<p>
	This wouldn't be a contest. It'd be just for fun. And we'd vote on which sets to use as our parts packs. Then we just pick what we want to make. We can collaborate on color schemes, designs, and who's making what.
</p>

<p>
	Anyone interested?

This ship is comprised of 21 separate components that assemble into 1 main ship or can be assembled into multiple ships and land bases, all using the original connection style from Classic Space of Modified Bricks with Technic pins and Technic Bricks. You can support this submission through the link: <a href="https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-10/4036/Deep-Space-Explorer" rel="external nofollow">https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-10/4036/Deep-Space-Explorer</a>

	Hi all
</p>

<p>
	Currently doing an APC and Dropship build from the Aliens film. I’ve managed to get some colonial marines, but I’m struggling with dropship pilots, and Burke. Can anyone suggest where to get these.
</p>

<p>
	thanks

	Me again - exercising some more SciFi TV show nerdism. <img alt=":blush:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/storagebackend/custom-emoji/emoticons/default_default_blush.gif" title=":blush:" /></p>

<p>
	As I was wrapping up the <a href="https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/forums/topic/147204-ship-eas-schwarzkopf-from-babylon-5/" rel="">Schwarzkopf</a>, I found an awesome <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/148859848@N08/32445361985" rel="external nofollow">LDD MOC on Flickr</a> by <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/148859848@N08/" rel="external nofollow">CK-MCMLXXXI</a> (don't know if they're on Eurobricks), and decided to try to reverse-engineer it, similar to how I ended up building <a href="https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/forums/topic/146929-ship-recreation-eas-agamemnon-from-babylon-5/" rel="">Agamemnon</a> - except in <em>this</em> case I only had 3 pics (4 angles) to go from, and no clues to go by for the internals.
</p>

<p>
	The designer wasn't sharing the LDD files (which is totally fair - I won't share mine for this either to stay true to that) but I said I'd love to build it, and they challenged me to do so... Challenge accepted! <img alt=":wink:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/storagebackend/custom-emoji/emoticons/default_default_blink.gif" title=":wink:" /><img alt=":laugh:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/storagebackend/custom-emoji/emoticons/default_default_laugh_new.gif" title=":laugh:" /></p>

<p>
	I managed to make something pretty close to their original but had to make some changes as I couldn't make all the bodywork angles match the original design perfectly. Some of the angles for the head were a nightmare to figure out - I had to do an ugly colourbarf mock-up IRL to test whether it was even possible or not! But yep, all the connections are legal in LDD this time - and I <em>think</em> there's enough clutch-power and structure in the 6 supports to hold up the sidepods IRL. <img alt=":thumbup:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/storagebackend/attachments/emoticons/default_thumbup.gif" title=":thumbup:" /></p>

<p>
	I'm pretty happy with how it turned out - Bluerender did a great job for the shots below, after I did some lighting experimentation. <img alt=":wub:" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/storagebackend/custom-emoji/emoticons/default_default_wubnew.gif" title=":wub:" /></p>

<p>
	It's 3455 bricks, but I'm not sure they're all available in all the colours - haven't checked that yet... LxWxH it's 65x35x14 studs/bricks, or 522x280x136mm, according to MLCad. I'd add some stickers to it if I was actually building it IRL, but I currently have no plans to do so (the wife thinks it looks too "stubby" <img alt="*huh*" data-emoticon="" src="https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/storagebackend/custom-emoji/emoticons/default_default_huh.gif" title="*huh*" />)...
</p>

<p>
	More pics including some LDD WIP screenshots are available in my <a href="https://flic.kr/s/aHskQAaWya" rel="external nofollow">Flickr album</a>, and here's a 360 render as a bonus:

	"You are now entering the Blacktron sector! This is the absolute limit of the Classic Space quadrant! You have been warned!"
</p>

<p>
	...sorry about that. Had to get the legal stuff out of the way first! Anyway:
</p>

<p>
	<strong><em>Blacktron long-range fighter "Buzzard"</em></strong>
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="53582090405_b791dd152b_z.jpg" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53582090405_b791dd152b_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	Above is the two copies of the Blacktron XL-15, which are now dubbed the "Buzzard" type starfighter.
</p>

<p>
	So back in January of 2023, I decided to convert the XL-15 spaceship from the film "Lightyear" into original Blacktron colors.
</p>

<p>
	The blue became yellow, and white was turned to black, with all the trans-green removed. I added laser blasters under the wings where some technic pins are and put a different control tile in the cockpit. I was thinking about building a second ship, but then again, getting some of the parts from Bricklink was a total pain due to extremely low quantities in the needed color. (I'm talking about you, 3 x 3 wedge plate in yellow!) Thankfully, I bought one too many of both kinds of the yellow 12 x 3 wedge plates, as they are very rare as well with only one store selling four of each kind in the USA, which made making the second one easier later on.
</p>

<p>
	<strong><em>Blacktron command vessel "Executor"</em></strong>
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="53580781452_e222a529b6_z.jpg" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53580781452_e222a529b6_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	In addition to the two Buzzards, I wanted a Blacktron capitol ship. I had no ideas of my own ship, so I spent most of the afternoon of 10/5/23 taking Benny's beloved spaceship from The Lego Movie and corrupting it into a twisted, evil version. I revamped the nose, removed the expanding wing assembly and snub fighters. Of course I then recolored it almost exclusively in black and yellow. (some gray was unavoidable!) I armed it with a turret on the top rear where the sensor array once was, and put the commanders office below where the wing mechanism used to be. To keep with the one-word naming scheme of the original Blacktron, I borrowed the name of Darth Vader's Super Star Destroyer, decreeing this ship the Blacktron Executor.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="53581870603_1d1bfa4e80_z.jpg" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53581870603_1d1bfa4e80_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	I struggled to think of an engine flame color that fit OG Blacktron, but eventually trans-light blue was selected.
</p>

<p>
	Since the wings don't extend anymore, I added a third section for figures with a turret on top in their place. The rear-most section lifts away, but the rest of the roof sections are supposed to fold open. The ship seats seven troops and 1 commander.
</p>

<p>
	<strong><em>Blacktron cargo transporter "Vendetta"</em></strong>
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="54584485808_c52e9ff5e9_z.jpg" data-ratio="73.75" width="640" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54584485808_c52e9ff5e9_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	The Blacktron Vendetta is finally finished! I combined the Renegade with a new cockpit modified from the Blacktron Cruiser GWP, with added parts from a free Rebrickable MOC's instructions for a Cruiser / Renegade adapter . The cargo pod is reverse engineered and modified from one posted in a Brickset article.
</p>

<p>
	You can view the Rebrickable MOC by user Brickstertwo <a href="https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-205027/Brickstertwo/blacktron-cruiser-to-renegade-module-adapter/#details" rel="external nofollow">here</a> while the Brickset article about modifying 10355 is <a href="https://brickset.com/article/117215/improving-the-new-renegade" rel="external nofollow">here</a>.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="54583396702_dd4b862e7d_z.jpg" data-ratio="58.91" width="640" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54583396702_dd4b862e7d_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	The rear of the vessel. I changed the engines flames from trans-red to trans-light blue to match the rest of my fleet. Same thing with the yellow technic wheels becoming light bluish gray.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="54584268441_d202301b41_z.jpg" data-ratio="65.16" width="640" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54584268441_d202301b41_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	The cockpit seats one mini-figure, and has two laser cannons just outside the canopy.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="54584485803_58c2522269_z.jpg" data-ratio="61.25" width="640" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54584485803_58c2522269_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	The removable cargo pod is inspired by one in a Brickset article from late December of last year. It works beautifully with the ship's drop mechanism.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="54584580995_2dd1332167_z.jpg" data-ratio="160.80" width="398" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54584580995_2dd1332167_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	The top lifts open on a hinge so you can put cargo inside.
</p>

<p>
	<strong><em>Blacktron two-man snub fighter "Avalanche"</em></strong>
</p>

<p>
	<img data-ratio="46.01" width="639" alt="55053863821_02cc528511_z.jpg" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55053863821_02cc528511_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	These ships are Blacktron 1 versions of a classic Star Wars speeder design is mostly taken from set 75204 - Sandspeeder, with portions taken from other snow-based versions of the type as well. All this is wrapped up in a new black and yellow paint job with a trans-yellow windscreen from 75414 - The Force Burner Snowspeeder. I call this ship type the Avalanche class snub fighter, and they will be going with my heavily modified Renegade set and the rest of my Blacktron 1 MOD's.
</p>

<p>
	<img data-ratio="60.25" width="639" alt="55054043938_4a3d71d8c0_z.jpg" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55054043938_4a3d71d8c0_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	Rear view of the two ships. This type of short-range fighter is usually assigned in massive quantities to defend critical planets with Blacktron bases on them, whereas the much more capable and deadly Buzzard type is usually for capitol ship escort duty, and can take on much bigger vessels with only a dozen or so fighters.
</p>

<p>

	The 2021 Star Wars set 75311 (Imperial Armored Marauder) has been transformed into a Blacktron 1 version, complete with revised guns instead of those annoying flick-fire things. I couldn't use space seats inside this one, but there are plenty (four) 2x2 modified tiles with just enough room for air-tanks in the model... at least I hope that will be the case!
</p>

</p>

<p>
	There are eight total opening hatches on the all four sides and top to place figures / store cargo. One figure sits in the rotating rear turret, two troopers sit in the main body of the vehicle, while the last fig sits in the drivers seat.

</p>

<p>
	For this model, I used parts and ideas from the Eternals line's "In Arishem's Shadow" set 76155 (body / head / upper legs / upper arms) along with claw from the old Agents 2.0' "Robot Attack" set 8970. The lower legs and laser arm are (modified) holdovers from the "Build Better Bricks" Iron Giant instructions. (I need to fix the laser arm's elbow joint but I keep forgetting!)

</p>

<p>
	Recently, while I was on my Blacktron kick, I decided I needed a vehicle for the commander. So, after a few false starts with other models, I dusted off this old TRON Legacy Light Runner model and went to town modifying it. The model originally was made five years ago (was 2018 really that long ago?!?), and is based off the two-seater TRON set 21314 MOD that was made by BrickBrosUK and posted on Brickset <a href="https://brickset.com/article/35431/21314-tron-legacy-alternative-model-from-brickbros-uk" rel="external nofollow">here</a>. The name Shadow Runner is a play on the Light-based vehicles from TRON.

</p>

<p>
	This model is recolored and modified from the E.R.I.C. robot from set 76831 - Zurg Battle - from the Pixar film Lightyear. I call this one E.D.G.A.R. which stands for:<br />
	Electronic<br />
	Data<br />
	Gathering /<br />
	Assimilating<br />
	Robot
</p>

</p>

<p>
	This sandwich-looking model was built from an 2002 Alpha Team set 4795 (Ogel Underwater base and AT sub) but heavily modified to fit into the Blacktron I theme. I had to fill in the spots where the flexible plastic "window' pieces were, replace the skull logo with the upside-down Tri-Force logo of Blacktron I, find ways to make the model almost totally "air tight", and add on a radar dish instead of a harpoon gun. I also made the building a lot deeper - about eight studs.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="54577235617_ab46f6205a_z.jpg" data-ratio="93.59" width="640" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54577235617_ab46f6205a_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	The rear of the model. I took out the fancy spinning wall of the original set and replaced it with a bank of windows. The radar installation and it's tower are my own design.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	As on the original set, the logo folds down, where it can be used as a ramp. Also as on the original  set, the MOD folds open to access the inside details. Special shout out to Jon Mo who designed the <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/95605252@N08/52662477281/in/photostream/" rel="external nofollow">brick built Blacktron logo</a> I used on my model (thanks also goes to EliteGuard01 for finding that logo design and recommending it to me).
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="54577235612_772f3bb892_z.jpg" data-ratio="55.63" width="640" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54577235612_772f3bb892_z.jpg" />
</p>

<p>
	The inside was very hard to figure out, as most space furniture is for me. I decided on six computer stations and a desk for the commander. Another source of trouble was to make the building open cleanly and close without holes. The original set struggled with this, and it failed miserably - however I feel I managed to fix that issue.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I modified 25 year old Star Wars set 7155 (Trade Federation AAT) into Blacktron I colors. Before that, the original set was very much a mess of too many colors, but now these two look elegant and refined in my opinion.

	Hi all!
</p>

<p>
	I've finally finished a MOC that I've work on, on and off, for years. It's a redux of the Blacktron Renegade. Here's the original:
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="6954-1.jpg" class="ipsImage" height="675" src="https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/6954-1.jpg" width="690" /></p>

<p>
	I wanted to keep the overall design pretty much the same. How did I do?
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/75562601@N00/51666073030" rel="external nofollow"><img alt="20211108_143259 (2)" class="ipsImage" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51666073030_c3efa50603_b.jpg" /></a><a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/75562601@N00/51665427423/in/photostream/" rel="external nofollow"><img alt="20211107_194932 (2)" class="ipsImage" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51665427423_cb4dec7c3f_b.jpg" /></a><a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/75562601@N00/51664389597/" rel="external nofollow"><img alt="20211106_150420 (2)" class="ipsImage" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51664389597_85955a6ea0_b.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	I named it Betrayer because a Renegade is essentially a traitor or deserter. I thought Betrayer sounded supremely evil while being synonymous with the original name.
</p>

<p>
	One thing that excited me a lot was using the new yellow triangle tiles to make a brick-built Blacktron logo.
</p>

<p>
	And I wanted to keep the original gimmick where the command ship could detach from the front, as well as the two side ships.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/75562601@N00/51665877724/in/photostream/" rel="external nofollow"><img alt="20211108_143110 (2)" class="ipsImage" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51665877724_71aeb3f31d_b.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	The command ship has hidden guns!
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/75562601@N00/51666074110/in/photostream/" rel="external nofollow"><img alt="20211106_150715 (2)" class="ipsImage" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51666074110_8881f52c34_b.jpg" /></a><a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/75562601@N00/51665196826/in/photostream/" rel="external nofollow"><img alt="20211106_150723 (2)" class="ipsImage" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51665196826_bd0827802d_b.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	One thing that always bugged me about the original was that after you removed the command ship, you were left with the butt-end of a space ship without anything to control it. I guess you had to pretend it was computer or AI controlled at that point. Like a robot. That gave me an idea.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/75562601@N00/51666073450/in/photostream/" rel="external nofollow"><img alt="20211108_142534 (2)" class="ipsImage" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51666073450_64955041d8_b.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	Why not make it transform into an actual robot?
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/75562601@N00/51665196681/in/photostream/" rel="external nofollow"><img alt="20211108_142045 (2)" class="ipsImage" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51665196681_80d95a79bb_b.jpg" /></a><a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/75562601@N00/51666073555/in/photostream/" rel="external nofollow"><img alt="20211108_142153 (2)" class="ipsImage" src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51666073555_6afa56ca9f_b.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	I hope you like it!
</p>

	Hello everybody,
</p>

<p>
	the magnificent Galaxy Explorer 10497 reignited my passion for old LEGO Space sets. Even though my heart beats for Technic, my very first Lego set was the M:Tron Vector Detector 6877. Since August I enlarged my collection of space sets and in most cases managed to get my hands on some of the sets I only dreamt about when I was a child. Back then I had only 6877, 6878 and 6811.
</p>

<p>
	I would like to use this thread for presenting my alternate builds of the LEGO space sets that I acquired in the last months. When I was a kid, I did not have a big collection but I always (to an extent) managed to build what I wanted. Creating alternate builds is one of my big passions and I love working with limited inventories and coming up with new ways and ideas from the same brick.
</p>

<p>
	Here is the first of many alternates to come:
</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#2ecc71;"><strong>6877 Tensor Deflector</strong></span>
</p>

<p>
	The model utilises 100% of the parts and features opening cokpit and detachable storage container at the back. The building instructions are part of the video. Happy Building!

	Hello everyone!
</p>

<p>
	Today I'm starting preparations for a larger <strong>Exo Force</strong> project, celebrating the series' <strong>20th anniversary</strong> next year! Wow, it's been so long!
</p>

<p>
	The project will be built in several stages. The first stage will be the construction of my version of the mechs from the first wave.
</p>

<p>
	Next year I will start building the base and the bridge.
</p>

<p>
	but let's get back to the mechs, first a small unit...
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:24px;"><strong>UPLINK</strong></span>
</p>

<p>
	This little mech was built by <strong>Ryo</strong>, who is one of the mechanics of the Exo-Force Team. He is also a designer and inventor of many of the human battle machines - like <strong>Mobile Defense Tank</strong> set 7706
</p>

<p>
	Uplink is a set number <strong>7708</strong> released in 2006, it contains only 69 parts.

<p>
	More information about this project in the video below, where I talk much more.

<p>
	And how do you like the idea for such a series

	Hello there!
</p>

<p>
	Perhaps some of you came across this a while back:
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/LegoNewsAndRumors/comments/1p7be38/possible_look_at_new_lego_city_set_source_eu_lego/" rel="external nofollow">https://www.reddit.com/r/LegoNewsAndRumors/comments/1p7be38/possible_look_at_new_lego_city_set_source_eu_lego/</a>
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/1oxyp0w/new_mech_for_city_space/" rel="external nofollow">https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/1oxyp0w/new_mech_for_city_space/</a>
</p>

<p>
	I was wondering if there is anyone interested in this design and actively working to get this sorted out/recreated, I realize identifying parts will work up to a point then it will be a matter of improvisation as we're missing a 360° view of the model.
</p>

<p>
	I did a spreadsheet of what I was able to identify/guess, right now I don't have the possibility of 3D building as that would greatly help so the next step is to try and build with pieces and see how far I can get.
</p>

<p>
	My goal is to get a plausible version ready and then order the parts as it would fit perfectly with my other City Space sets. When I say "plausible" I'm referring to the back and other parts which we can't see clearly or at all, I want to achieve a design that looks like it could be the actual one even if it differs slightly.
</p>

<p>
	Oh yeah, there is the theoretical possibility of asking the designers to cough up the parts list, would that have any chance of success? Because 99% I don't expect TLG to actually make this an official set unfortunately.
</p>

<p>
	Any thoughts?

	Prior to watching Avatar: Fire and Ash, I decided to rewatch the first two Avatar films, and the Valkyrie Shuttle that carries Jake Sully at the beginning of the first movie immediately caught my eye. Its bold silhouette and trans-atmospheric role made it the perfect candidate to recreate using two copies of the 31134 Space Shuttle set.<br />
	 <br />
	The Valkyrie SSTO (Single Stage To Orbit) is a trans-atmospheric transport vehicle, defined by its broad delta wing planform, large winglets, and high-mounted wing configuration, similar to modern transport aircraft like the C-17 Globemaster III. For the wings, two 6×4 wedge plates per side form the delta shape, with 4×4 plates acting as the winglet mounts. While the winglets should ideally be canted at an angle, using two tail pieces offered the best compromise between visual accuracy and structural strength.<br />
	 <br />
	The fuselage is built using curve slopes on brackets, allowing the wings to be mounted cleanly on top while curved slopes smooth out the sides. The Valkyrie’s twin fusion engines are a major visual feature, protruding prominently from the delta wings. Due to the lack of gray tiles and slopes, the engines are constructed from a mix of coloured plates, helping them stand out against the otherwise white body.<br />
	 <br />
	VTOL capability is a key aspect of the Valkyrie’s design, achieved through four thrust-vectoring, pivoting turbojet nacelles. On the LEGO model, these are represented with four dark bluish gray 1×2 round plates to ensure they remain clearly visible. The nose profile is captured using black curved bricks and slopes, while the rear cargo ramp is fully openable via a clip connection.<br />
	 <br />
	Curved slopes also cover the tops of the wings, matching the fuselage sides and creating a cohesive, aerodynamic look — fortunately, there were just enough pieces to complete the entire shuttle. A small hinged display stand, built from leftover parts, allows the Valkyrie to be shown in flight at a dynamic angle.<br />
	 <br />
	Overall, the Valkyrie is a solid and swooshable model, with a few necessary compromises to accuracy that ultimately enhance playability and structural strength.

	<strong>Star Chaser!</strong><br />
	<br />
	While going through Christmas gifts, I rediscovered the 31134 Space Shuttle and decided to pick up a second set to build something larger and more ambitious. The design draws inspiration from Concorde, SR-71, Dream Chaser, and of course the Space Shuttle, blending real-world aerospace cues with a more creative sci-fi direction.<br />
	<br />
	The crew cabin has been bulked up and extended using the dome brick, while the payload bay is stretched with two additional sets of hinged doors. The rear half of the payload bay is partially filled with bricks for structural strength—easily imagined as extra cargo or fuel for long-range missions to Mars. Due to the extra layer of tiling on the wings, the rear two cargo doors don’t open as wide as the front pair. The tail unit protrudes from the thrusters and doubles as a docking module, designed to interface with the International Space Station.<br />
	<br />
	The long, smooth delta wings are heavily inspired by Concorde. I also played around with the idea of a direct Concorde build, but the fuselage proportions became too bulky and the tail fin too small—so I pivoted into full creative mode and designed my own spaceship instead. Large twin thrusters sit on each wing, using black curved bricks as engine fairings, with vertical fins on top to give that unmistakable SR-71 vibe. White triangular tiles and wedge plates were used extensively to cover the underlying black and dark bluish gray elements, keeping the exterior clean and cohesive.<br />
	<br />
	Inside the cargo bay, the robotic arm is retained for satellite deployment. The hinged doors immediately fascinated my son—he even made his own cargo from paper and sticky tape and insisted it stay inside. The fuselage and wings are very sturdy, while the thrusters can be knocked off due to their single-stud connections. As long as it’s handled by the fuselage or wings, the Star Chaser remains highly swooshable.<br />
	<br />
	What started as an idea to scale up the Space Shuttle turned into a fully original spacecraft of its own. Star Chaser blends familiar aerospace design language with creative freedom, resulting in a model that’s both structurally solid and fun to interact with—proof that sometimes the best builds happen when you let the design lead the way.

	I'm working on an alternate version of the space car below as I want to use the large triangular flag with BT logo as side wings.

</p>

</p>

	And the BT version (digital for now) with the flag at recessed angle and extended front section with 1x2 cheese slopes to add more angle lines . I still need to change the cockpit to use trans-yellow windscreen. I also have an easy fix to remove the 2 visible stud on the front.
