    10278 Police Station

Not my favorite in the line, but I like it. And, contrary to what seems to be the taste of many, it is precisely the fact it includes 3 buildings of different style, color, height and depth that makes it more appealing. Rather then just being a model of a building, this creates a more or less vibrant street scene. Which gives me the feeling that I get more for my money then in case it were only 1 big block.. (I know this is completely subjective and not backed up by price per piece count or whatever.. but still.. ) I guess that is why the Detective Office, Brick Bank and Assembly Square are still my favorite ones, in that order.. Pity Lego missed out on putting a old fashioned police car in the set... Including it might have pushed this set into my top list... I.m.o. there was no real need for a car in the Cinema or Diner sets, But after the Fire Brigade and the Corner Garage, this is a set that would benefit from including one. ... oh, and Yaaay! 2 bathrooms in one set... is that the first time?? they are really going full throttle here... :) ps : up till now I have a bit of problems with the left side of the diner... since this is kind of a semi corner building, it doesn't seem to fit against another building... but as real corner something is wrong too... I wonder how the diner will look next to the green jail and newspaper stand... since it is backed a bit, and the outer wall has some texture, this might be the best place to connect the diner to... hope to find out soon..

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Going a bit against the flow here but ; not that excited about this modular. Revealing more details might change my view on this, but based on the couple of pics I've seen so far it just looks like a rehashed and downsized petshop to me.. Pet shop townhouse will look like a skyscraper next to the house in this set.. But then again, I did like the garage.. an while it maybe lacks a bit on execution, the concept of it was different.. which makes it stand out in its own way..

    James Bond 2018

So it probably will be a Creator Expert style DB (5) ? Makes sense, specially when its equipped with the typical Bond gadgets. Pity it will be out of the range of sets I collect then (rather system scale). I would be nice if they also could do a Bond inspired Speed Champions run, even if not Bond branded, it could be a run with some DB's, Lotus, even the odd Ford, Ferrari, Bentley, Toyota, Alfa or whatever sportscar that makes a brief appearance in on of the movies..
  5. Pitty that the lime green color of the technic piece used for the headlights, seems to be a bit different compared to the rest of the car..
  6. That Mustang is definitely my favorite of this years line up. Really looks good with that full green side... and not using any of the stickers... I was thinking to apply the central gold striping, but the inflated Ford and LEGO logos ruin the looks to much.. I am also looking forward to the 911 set, and the 250GTO.. Pity it comes in the most expensive set and not as a single car set... Might build it just using the instructions and parts from the bin.
  7. I really like the Mustang and the Porsche 911 sets, pity the 250 GTO isn't sold in a (cheaper) single car set..

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

Does anybody have an idea which of the figs is shown on the side of the box on that leaked bounty hunter bp image? It seems to be different from the 4 shown on the front of the box.. I first thought it was Bossk, but the head looks rather brown then green..

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Can anyone distinguish if Yondu ( I suppose it is him in the yellow pod in 76080) , has a mohawk, as in the first movie, or has a "fin" as he seems to have in the GotG2 trailers? The red blur seems to be to big for a recolored dimensions Mr T mohawk..

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Now that is an interesting idea / argument to buy this new Milano too.. But I am not sure though this new version is really a lot smaller. Based on a quick count of the studs, as far I can distinguish them, the wingspan of both versions seems to be more or less the same, the new one being about 2 studs shorter. The new one also seems to have a more accurate cockpit dome, and while the way the color scheme / striping was done on the first 76021 was more accurate than this one ( unless this has changed for GotG2), I seem to prefer the blue / orange combination of the new one over the blue / yellow from the previous version

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

Pity the picture of the GotG2 sets is still small, or blurry when zoomed in, but looks interesting nevertheless. I thought however to have read , on Brickset I think, that 76079 would be Ayesha's Revenge, and 76080 Ravager Attack. Based on the minifigures included in the sets, I guess it is the other way around then. Only one , minor, let down : because of the supposed set name "Ravager Attack", I had hoped to see more, at least 2, different Ravagers in that set. (excluding the main team in case they come in Ravager gear). Definitely going to pick up the 2 smaller sets, but since I am happy with my 76021 I am not sure yet about the Milano. Will depend on the price I can get it, the build itself and of course the figs.. hoping for a Gamora with a darker outfit then the previous version.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

A funny and colorful CMF series. I am not exactly a DC fan, and since the last couple of price hikes not aiming anymore for complete CMF series neither, but I will try to get a couple of these.. just for fun or for use outside the Batman universe: * the pink punky girl (Mime?) : no idea who or what she is, but I think she will make a nice guest appearance as a dancer/singer in Jabba's palace. * the rabbit girl (March Hare?) : pitty they gave her that cowl instead of hair with rabbit ears, as she appears in the comic drawings I have seen.. but maybe then her occupation would be to obvious to be still acceptable as a Lego minifig * Catman : I don't know the character, but he looks like a mix of Batman, Wolverine and the Night Owl.. cool.. a universal caped villain / hero .. and I like the yellow brown color combination * rocker Batman : oh yes... just as a standalone fig .. even with the Batgear one can just put him in a band in Lego town * lobster Batman: for the robes and the lobster * comm Gordon : I like that sloppy look , a very nice torso for a PI * pink Batgirl : no idea what I can use her for, but just really like the figure.. and some maybes: *CaveBatman : would be a yes if he came without the necklace which limits its use a bit... ( I do not use brasso on my figs) *Swimsuit Batman : very wacky .. a real fun minifig, I like the ducky lifesaver, but since I do not collect / display DC, the fig will probably end up in the parts bin, while the parts are in fact to specific to be used elsewhere.. * King Tut : would make a nice historic figure, but 95% of my history figs are yellows... ; idem goes for the CaveBatman some parts I like, not included in the figs above: the white space armor of the Calculator guy ; the pencil head of the Eraser guy ; the pink tutu and cowl of the Fairy... that pink cowl might turn into a sought item in a couple of years.. like the red Darth Vader or white Boba Fet helmets.. As said before, I am not really a DC fan, so I might be wrong.. but apparently there are a lot of obscure characters included in this series? One can only hope that one day something similar will be possible for Star Wars, or a (mixed) series with forgotten characters of other past licensed themes.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

Battlepacks up from 14.99 € in 2015 to 16.99 in 2016 ; small sets ( Hoth, J Interceptor, Freezing chamber, Droid escape) from 29.99 to 34.99 € ... Speaking of Lego SW inflation.. ; that is between 13 & 17 % (while "real" inflation is around 1.5) I don't know what they are drinking or smoking @ the Lego BeNeLux HQ, but I would like to try the same stuff..

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion

My kids are disappointed... when I showed them some weeks ago the prelim pictures of the Mighty Micros they were excited though; finally some "real Lego" super hero sets / figures, and we all know it is mainly about the figures, within pocket money reach! But this was not what they expected.. to AFOLS those figs might look cute, funny, a fresh approach,.. my 10-ish year olds find them just stupid.. Another won battle for the bootleggers I guess..

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

Thanks Robianco... , I will have a look. I did not know you could look there for specific (type of) parts, thought you could only search based on setnumbers. I did not find that practical for searching loose parts, unless of course you realy need a replacement part for something in a set.. From the few times I checked this B&P I also seem to remember that they never had printed or minifig parts available..
