Well here is how you enter to win your Gold (14 Karat) 3P0, as laid out in this issue of the LEGO Magazine:

Send a letter or postcard with your name, Age, Address and Daytime phone number to:

Golden C-3P0 Contest
P.O. Box 1179
Enfield, CT 06083
USA

All entries must be received by November 1st, 2007

Good luck, 5 solid gold droids are available and will be chosen randomly from all the entries received, and announced on www.LEGO.com/STARWARS in December, 2007!

According to the fine print the little droid is valued at $1200.00. Not too bad a prize.

Also the Magazine states that the HUNT IS ON for the gold chrome figures too, so open your sets with anticipation.

Lego.com Link

Yay! Unfortunately everything has to be mailed. 1,200$, that's alot.

Oh, and the HUNT IS ON for the plastic guys!

Nope, these are the full gold ones *sweet*

I just wish I knew if the Ep 1 sets that are being released now will be eligible for the chrome 3POs, or if that starts on a certain date

well, it doesn't expressly state that it's US only ... so, for the cost of sending a postcard to the US, I think it's worth the risk!

I saw that too.

I think Lego is teasing us with the lame Hoth base now and releasing a set with a Wampa and Tauntauns in the winter.

Keeping fingers crossed, Jamie

Actually I was under the impression that it was confirmed that the C3PO would ONLY be included in certain new sets:

Sith Infiltraitor
Millenium Falcon
Jedi Starfighter
MTT
Naboo Fighter

And nothing else

I hope you are right,I really didn't want to buy the imperial landing craft just so I could maybe get a C3PO

It's not that I know one way or the other, I'm just waiting for verification of what we had been told earlier.  However I'm confused now.  You said in the first post, specifically the ILC, but now you say the newer sets that aren't released yet?  Which did you mean?

Sorry I should edit that, that was a response to copmike about other large sets
What I meant was most of the C3POs should be in that set not all of them
Most of them could be 7,000 and the other 3,000 could be in the New upcoming sets
7,000 is just an example
My apologies

Ah, no problem :-) (especially since I haven't bought the ILC yet  >:-) ), but that's where my confusion comes in, since I thought it was confirmed that ALL of them would be in the sets I mentioned.  I guess we'll just have to wait for confirmation from Sam or someone else then

I bet this contest is only open to US residents though :-( .  Still, when you consider how low the odds are, it really doesn't make much difference anyways.

Unfortunately, blueandwhite...it is:(.

Anyhoo, I was under the impression that all the C-3PO's are going to be randomly distributed into all of the newer sets.
