Stijn Oom recently posted his entry for the 2014 MocAthlon: Pirates' Haven category
It features some excellent snot work on the rocks, a neat color scheme seldom seen in pirate mocs as well as many other great details

Wow! I love the way the birds were built on the rocks. The shack and canopy look really nice too.

It is a very fine entry to be sure!  It has a very subdued colour palette giving it a bit of atmosphere.

Do we know how Stijn Oom fared in the 2014 MocAthlon: Pirates' Haven category?  And are there any other noteworthy entries in the Pirates' Haven category?

As I was a judge (and the very one who suggested the category), I can tell you there was some great entries this year! For this particular entry, I gave a four out of five, which is one away from perfect. Posted Image

On the amount of entries, if I can remember, there were around ten or so for the Pirates' Haven category. Most them were great entries and I suggest you take a look at them. Here's the link to the MocAthalon. If you want, I can probably get you a list of all the Pirate Haven entries.
