Solscud007 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Found this at my local Target. It was in the cashier aisle. I suspect these might be placed out for Easter. We shall see as Target is still clearancing out Valentine's Day goods. Parts break down. Nothing amazing in terms of pieces. But I am surprised how simple it is. Build up. The build uses these 2x1 technic hole brick but they dont do anything. Seems like a waste. The build uses that dark gray arch. I swapped it with a black one from my Death Star Gunner minifig set after i built this. The dark gray arch and the gold vent seem like an eye sore to me. Not a bad set for $4.39. Plus who isnt a fan of the Tumbler? Minor issues with parts choice but they are easy fixes. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Nice review, I agree that that grey part looks very out of place. Still, easily fixed. Quote
Solscud007 Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 I replaced the arch with black. I ordered black wheels off bricklink to replace the bley wheels. will post pics when they arrive. Quote
tfcrafter Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 The Technic brick with a hole is there to save plastic, I think. Just some of the cost-cutting measures that now exist. One example I can think of off the top of my head was the 8075 Neptune Carrier. Quote
LEGO Family Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 So masterbuilder Batman didnt assemble the original as he only works in black, and sometimes very very dark grey Lovely little polybag though !! Your version is but better, can imagine it will look , when you get your order in ! .. Quote
tafkatb Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) The Technic brick with a hole is there to save plastic, I think. Just some of the cost-cutting measures that now exist. One example I can think of off the top of my head was the 8075 Neptune Carrier. No, the Technic bricks are there because they have hollow studs, necessary for the 1x2 plates to be attached at an offset. Technic bricks actually contain more plastic than their standard brick counterparts. ETA: Well, two of the Technic bricks are there for their hollow studs - the third is indeed a cost-cutting measure since it's more cost effective to add one more of an element that's already in the set than to introduce a different part for a structural element that isn't seen in the final build anyway. HawkLord Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Haven't found this yet at the local Target. They still have the Chima bag at the registers and the Easter section which is still being built didn't have a shelf space listed, though they did have two other Lego item spaces with tags. Very cool set - I'll be in for two when I find it. Thanks for posting the review. Quote
