Hello there! happy holidays :)

It's been a little while since I posted something, so here I am, with a new MOC :pir-grin:

I rarely build anything other than ships,in fact it is the first non-ship construction I make, so we can say I had a very nice (and busy) week working on this, but it was worth every second :)

I based my desing on the original 6273 Rock Island Refuge, or at least that was the idea at the beggining hehe, then I felt inspired to add more and more stuff, and finally this came out, I name it the Rock Island Fortress, enjoy :)

This is terrific! It reminds me so much of the 1990s Pirates sets. I remember they did several shipwreck sets and they all looked dreadful (one of them I never even realized was supposed to be a shipwreck until I read that in a review; I always wondered why it had a sail). But you really did a great job making it look like an actual broken ship. Superb!

Love this! It has a really classic lego feel. The only thing is that the fortress looks to put together for what I imagine as a pirate hideout. But that's just me. Really like the shipwreck.

Good job on adding 'rock' to Rock Island Refuge, the original set lacked that I think, nice shipwreck as well, reminds me of that rare set Pirates Perilous PitfallPosted Image .

Hehe, yes I wanted to recreate something with classic feeling, and seeing that various sets have a shipwreck, I thought it could be nice to do one too! (not to mention it was a lot of fun) Posted Image

Great MOC - when I look on it I don't know why Pirates series aren't in any catalogue Posted Image . Wish that one day they will re-edit old stuff from times when Blue Coats fought with pirates Posted Image (dreamer).

Detail, detail everywhere! Great MOC! We don't see enough pirate fortresses, even though there were many throughout the Caribbean, on islands such as Tortuga.
