badgerboy Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Hi There! It's been a very long time since I posted here. Hopefully this MOC will be new to some of you but not to others... Link to the CUUSOO Brickshelf for the mark 1 version Brickshelf for the mark 2 version inc. instructions Please support if you feel so inclined. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Just a couple of things. If you could share more pictures and maybe a little bit about the MOC in your own words, it would make this less like a sales pitch and more of a MOC presentation which is what we want here. Secondly, The Iron Giant is not an official LEGO license so I'm moving this to Sci-Fi, where a robot who comes to earth to befriend a boy and kill all humans will feel at home. It's possible I'm thinking of the Futurama parody with the kill all humans thing... Quote
badgerboy Posted September 28, 2013 Author Posted September 28, 2013 Apologies for the "Sales Pitch" - it wasn't intended as such. I'm a full-time Dad currently, and I think what happened here was that the little man started shouting and I forgot to come back and put more of a friendly spin on my post! There aren't that many photos of this MOC other than the ones in the Brickshelf folders I linked to - as I did do it some years ago. Hopefully, there's some fun things to discover there anyway as well as full instructions for the build (for now)! The Iron Giant is an all time favourite film of mine, certainly one of the best cell animated films in my opinion. I've included a Cadillac and an 'S'uperman badge. If I do get enough support, I will source parts and add in a little Hogarth Mini-figure... possibly even the beat-nik Dean too! From what I recall, I did set out to produce something that I though was possible as an official set. My one regret is not having 'something' of the "weapons" function from the awesome destruction scene in the film. I am happy with the expression on him though! Sorry once again for any offense caused - I hope this goes some-way to make up for the curt brevity of the initial post. Thanks to Blondie-Wan and Laservampire for the support :) Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I apologize if I sounded harsh, I certainly didn't mean to. And I know how distracting the little ones can be. It is a lovely MOC and I wish it the best as CUUSOO project. It makes me want to watch the movie again. Quote
eurotrash Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 The facial characteristics are very well done. Good luck on Cuusoo Quote
gerkenz Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I like this robot a lot! Clean design with a small amount of parts. I would remove the official LEGO logo from the picture .... because it's not official. ;-) If I find some time I will build it.... thanks for sharing. Quote
