Today I had a bit of a hang-over from last night and the sun was really hot in my parents'veranda. So instead of just hanging around and doing nothing, I decided to review this little set. I bought it in a regular shop in Ostend (Belgium) for only 6.99 euro. I didn't know that LEGO had also released this little truck for regular retailers. Anyways this set is a remake from the 1997 set 2148. The only difference is Bley gray and the way the exhaust pipes are attached to the truck.
THE BUILT

There are a 104 pieces so it's quite a big truck actually. There aren't many special techniques but some things are done quite nicely. Like the stuff hanging under the truck (sorry don't know what it's called) as seen on this picture:

The cabin and drivers seat is nothing special, as they are simply stacked up bricks and it's not very solid. I think it's a bit sloppy.

THE MODEL

I really like the model. It fits perfectly into the classic "town legoland scale " (unlike the übersized CITY sets).
And the fact that it has a classic looking minifig is A-OK with me. I also love the way the roof is done, It opens easily and has a classic hinge unlike those god awfull hinges we have today. (they might be go for robot legs but not for car roofs).
CONCLUSION
Pros
- Nice classic lego scale
- cool cabin behind drivers seat
- lots of cool crome parts.
- good minifig
-finally a model that doesn't look like a monster truck with those tires.
cons
- expensive
- not super solid
- stickers and no print bricks
