Hi there,

I put a pub / hotel / bar in my town and am looking for a LEGO style name to put on it's sign.

This is my list......would like to know which people think is the best.....or even better, some new suggestions :classic:

Short list: :sweet:
  • The stud and barrel
  • Brickbeard's head
  • The bull and brick
  • The brickwright's arms
  • Marquis of Billund
  • Brick & Whistle

Rejects: :sceptic:
  • The stud and flag
  • The minifig's arms
  • The knight's helmet
  • The royal brick
  • The brick shepherd
  • The bishop's plate
  • Brick lion
  • The stud and dragon
  • Brick and crown
  • The barrel and stud
  • Three bricks.
  • Bricklayer's rest
  • The brick and tile
  • Railway tavern
  • Bricklayer's arms
Cheers,

I like "the stud and barrel".
Mafia: Craig Anheiser in Darkdragon and Shadows' Aperture Academy.  Firuz Foxtail in Hinckley's Harriet Slutter.

Link to my flickr photo stream. And my other favourite LEGO site, FriendsBricks!

Interesting list......I'll suggest "Brickworks Tavern".
It sounds realistic while still sounding Lego-ish.

I just (last month) got some 1x8 engraved bricks done that say "Brick & Barrel"  "Public House" so I am glad you didn't use that variant. ;)

I think the 'Minifigs arms' is actually quite clever when you think about it but I see it's on your reject list.

Out of your favorites, "The Stud & Barrel" is my pick. I could make hundreds more suggestions, but I'll avoid turning this into a 'generic Lego puns' thread..

How about the 'Tile & Plate,' or the 'Stud & Tile.'

The 'Plate of Cheese' perhaps? Maybe that would be better for a cafe?

It was a close call....but I guess, I was after something that would also pass for a real life pub if you didn't think about it too hard. Who doesn't like a good LEGO pun though?
