Stay Tuned fellow brick lovers....

I don't want to be rude but what's the point of posting a message saying "I'll review soon something...?".
I guess you'll start another thread to post the real review... Waste of time and forum space.
*Edit* : Reading my answer, I realized that my post is also a waste of time... X-D

Guys,
Calm down. Doesn't your internet browser have a Back button? It is not that much effort to press it every now and then you know :-)

The Official Lego Set 7945 review
Lego says:
Get ready to fight the fire!
When the fire alarm sounds, it’s time for action! This fire station has everything you’ll need to save the day, from a central station with control and alarm rooms, to two garages with working doors, to a team of brave firefighters and a pair of realistic firefighting vehicles. • Truck’s ladder extends to 15 inches (39 cm).
• Includes 4 firefighter minifigures with equipment!
• Raise and lower the garage doors!
• Climb the ladder to the highest window!
• Set is divided into sub-models for easy building and instant play!

Roll up garage door with 2 6X6 skylights in roof
Nice garage lights and decorative Fire Logo

Main Building: 8 X 16 stud base plate.

Modern phone set
Coffee machine with cup

Second floor control room:
Desk with computer and LCD screen
Sloped control panel and coffee cup
Exit door to roof tops
LARGE Fire Dept. flag with sticker
1X4X6 windows used to form a skylight roof using technique pins
Radio antenna for communications
Twin binoculars used as loud speakers for crews to hear communications

Vehicles
Chiefs SUV
Nice innovative design with hatchback trunk
New clear headlights as on 7942
Uses same front windshield as seen on 7942
Rear hatch opens to reveal breathing apparatus
Rear hatch has lift-gate style door built like real minivans or SUV’s
Most realistic chief’s car ever designed by TLC

Boom truck
Nice flat bed design, nicer then7239
Fire hose reel incorporated into truck frame
Other side has container for air tanks
Rear view mirrors a nice touch
Double crane arm used to make boom
NEW Part, simulated hydraulic pistons using technique rods
That slide loosely in new tubes
Boom extends to the height of many MiniFig skyscrapers
Rear deck has very realistic turn signal / brake lights
Very nice design but 1 flaw exists: the boom operators chair faces the wrong way
Check out my MOD to fix this issue

MiniFigs : Nothing new, no new faces same fire fighters as always.
Overall: Nice design, far above the 7240 set, brings back memories of 6389 and 6571 fire stations
Good piece count, plenty of useful pieces for other projects. Great vehicles and good design
Ideas ( sliding door/ hatchback/ boom )
Highly recommend this set to all Town/City brick lovers
Pro’s: Nice buildings, vehicles
Con’s: Boom design, very hard to integrate into city roadway because of uneven
plates, no helicopter or landing pad.
Sliding door + video

Part 2
MOD to the boom truck
You will notice that the seat on the arm is facing forward towards the cab of the truck yet the basket is behind the operator.
Originaly tried switching the seat around but the hydraulic arm would bang up against it when the boom was folded so
I reworked the boom to have both hydraulic pistons on the same side
looks real and works

And I most agree on all the points.
Especially the odd shape of the staion.
How does LEGO imagine this to fit in with roadplates :-|

this set dosent look as good as i thought..
sure its better from the last fire department..
but come on whats up with all those stickers? even on the baseplate? BAD!!
even on the flag??terrible!!
and why are these baseplates..i mean...there are so many of them...and small...and..BAD!!
the chiefs car is VERY nice!!
the truck is kind of okay although why does it strecth up to there?
the only thing in lego-city that is so tall is the building crane...!!!
so is it only for that?
or if a bird cathces fire?
i dont see any other reason for it!
the building is really weird.
and as some others have already pointed out..how are we supposed to place this in our lay-out? *wacko*
its just not right..
the minifigs have nothing new to offer..but 4 of them is ok for this set.
i really like the fact that there is a small tree and a couple of flowers..
the whole set has a nice classic look to it..
but its really something between classic and juniorized..
a step in the right direction non-the-less
and a nice use of color..
anyhow..im not in the market for a new fire-station.
i already have one that i love and i dont need another one..
maby i will just get the new small car..
overall i would give this set a 6.75 out of 10
(well the last fire station got a 5/10 in my books so thats ok)

If you compare the big truck to the firetruck with the boat from a few years ago you can see that the level of detail has gone from blocky and simple to nicer and more sophisticated.
In the cabin, the fireman does'nt have to sit in the middle anymore and the blue windscreen/windows are back in the firesets.
All those different dark bluish grey baseplates could have been nicer, but when you put the set on green baseplates and fill up the gap in front of the sliding door, it will soon change for the better.
The only thing I don't like about this set is the nozzle and the way it is attached to the hose itself, you can just slide the yellow piece along the entire rope... WHY?? The older ones were so much better... :-(
But still a great set, if you don't have it, get it!

the only thing I really don't like is the terrible placement of the poorly designed bed.

Although I do love the detail that TLG is now putting on the new vehicals, rear view mirrors and such.

Nice general look, nice accessories (cleaning area, flowers and tree), sliding door, garage doors, nice trcuk and car.
But I agree too that the small baseplates are not so nice because you have to have more of them to integrate it in a layout. And this crapy nozzel :-X just for saving money I think... too bad!
I need to buy it! I destroyed my older station, so I don't have the choice :-P
Can't wait to have it (not befor february, we are late in some toystores in France...)

Very nice review, and, well, I do pitty those whose sets were incomplete, but posting these facts as if it was the set itself's guilt, I mean, hehehe, that has to be against TRU and not against the set.
Anyway, this set looks very well detailed, designed and despite the stickers looks nice to me (If I could handled Ferrari Sets' stickers, I can handle the ones in this set).
Very Good work, reviewer and TLC *y*

@ oo7: That fireman´s face lying on the bed (on your photo) is not sold with this set, is it? ;-)
