"I've heard of This Death Progg. Quest 36 I believe, a young hero of few quests was wielding a mighty blade by the name of Combrys. He decided to try and kill Rhodus alone. He failed, and along with the sword, were embedded in Rhodus' tail, and then they just dissappeared. That heroes name was Daxus. He was lost, presumably scarred by his encounter with a Draugr."

QM Note: I see Fugazi is on right now. I have a bit of math homework (Bleh.) to do, so I'll move the quest along when I'm finished and had some dinner. He signed up for the quest just a few hours prior anyway, so i don't see why he wouldn't be ready.

"I am no kid evoker Lycan.  Knowledge of the arcane will help us greatly in this quest.  Back on to the issue with the progs, to infiltrate the progs we will need to sneak. This should not be too hard as they are massive and we can hide in places they can't access."

"Let's get going."

The 6 heroes and Punii board the chariot, climbing the ladder and settling into it's cushy seats. jerome cracks the reins and the horse zooms off galloping towards it's wartorn destination. As they fly through Eubric and approach the border of Luosh,  a smoke bomb goes off, surrounding them in a thick veil of smoke and dust. Suddenly, a throwing knife whizzes from the smoke, riccocheting off of the tire spokes and breaking them, crushing the wheels flat. Whoever threw that knew exactly what they were doing: they were immobilized.

As if that wasn't enough, a ghastly red shadow jumps from the smoke and beheads the horses with a giant meat cleaver. They couldn't make it any finer details, but his wicked laugh gave them the shivers. Another shadow bursts out from the smokescreen, piledriving the roof of the chariot. The ceiling goes concave and the heroes pull their heads back to avoid being crushed. The shadow follows up iwth a mighty haymkaer to the chariot's side, toppling it over and sending it's passengers out. Sprawled out on the grass, the heroes see a torrent of green flame emit from the smoke, scorching the chariot's remains. They were too shaken to stand up.

Posted Image

4 sets of piercing eyes glow from under their smokescreen, watching amused as Jerome staggers up and tries to run away from the wreck. Another knife flies out through the smoke, piercing right through Jerome's stomach. The poor man  collapses to the ground in a heap: dead.

Posted Image

"Eeeeexcellent. We finally disbanded that irksome batch of guards, and have stumbled across our supposed 'heroes'." Cackles the pair of red eyes.

"It was a plan beautiful in it's simplicity, really. One of our masters crossed with you Heroica idiots before, and knew that you'd arrive again. Thus, all we had to do was simply whittle down the chariot's crew as it departed and launch a full-scale ambush when it came back. From there we'd be able to kill you heroes easily." Snarks the pair of green eyes.

"You haven't even came into the town yet and we are already a step ahead of you. Disgraceful for someone who claims to be a hero." Mocks the pair of blue eyes.

"Now... join your friend in the infinite bliss that is Death." says the pair of Pink eyes.

How was this so? Their mission hadn't even started yet and it was already over? Suddenly, Punii and the heroes felt a tugging... claws and feet wrapped around their ankles and dragged them down into the earth, saving them from their early demise.

Posted Image
"WHAT?" They all exclaim simultaneously.

Posted Image

Underground, the heroes encounter two green creatures: proggs! they brandish their blades at the rather smelly pair, preparing to strike. Punii dashes up in front of them.

Posted Image
"Stop! These Proggs are friendly - they aided in the defeat of Rhodus!"

Punii turns, awestruck, to his friends.

"How'd you find us?"

Posted Image
"Ever since the Vault fiasco, we have been ducking out in a cozy little cave under Luosh. When the Proggs invaded Luosh, it was nearly an earthquake with the amount of Progg's tunneling underground. We figured a hero would be called sooner or later, so we have been hiding under the border for some heroes to arrive. We knew The Gladius Unit was patrolling the border above-ground for the same reason, so we prepared a bit of an escape tunnel to the Town Hall. That is the only current refuge from the Proggs."

The toxic twins turn to the party.

"I'd like it if you didn't try to kill us, thank you. We're only here to help - we have a bone to pick against the Death Progg. Or Rhodus. or whatever he calls himself now. Let's have a waln-n-talk, shall we? We'll guide you down this tunnel, and we'll try to answer any questions you may have.

You're very lucky to be alive, by the way. Nobody crosses tails with the entire Gladius unit and lives. Thank us when this mess is over."

And with that, the Toxiproggs turn and begin walking down their tunnel.

Shaken by the turn of events, Galen makes sure his weapons and stocks are still with him then throws a questioning look at his party.

"Are we sure these green... creatures aren't trying to lead us into an ambush? Are they trying to help us or is this just an elaborate ploy to get rid of us more swiftly?"

OOC: Sorry for the delay Endgame! Thanks for having me, stats look fine.

OoC: what's this? 4 Slendermen?

"Who was that?!"

Someone shouts "I don't know!"

Another shouts "They took Jerome!"

"Who was that??!"

After settling down, the party continues.

"So what exactly is that? Is it even a physical being?"

Elgar gasps than bows at the sight of the 2 proggs.  Hearing Galen's first reaction Elgar replied.
"I think we can trust them.  Punii trust them and he chose us for this quest."
Elgar then turned to the proggs.
"what is a Gladius unit? Where does this tunnel go? And how many proggs are there that want to kill us?"

"The Toxiprogg's are two of my *wheeze* best friend. After my mother abandoned me 'cuz I was a runt, they *cough* helped me in any way they could. They also created a posion that eventually led to Rhodus's defeat. We can trust them."

Posted Image
"Tell 'em, little buddy. Trust me, even though we're proggs, we are no fans of the ones that have invaded Luosh.

It is not a Gladius Unit, it is the Gladius Unit. We'd all be doomed if there was more then one...

They are the right-hand men of the three Progg Royals. The team consists of 4 powerful Progg warriors: The Wound, The Bleeding, The Suffering, and The Regret. Excluding the three Progg Royals, they are the most powerful proggs that are in on the invasion. The tend to hang out near a Royal's side.

This tunnel leads to outside the Town Hall, the only place in Luosh that is not controlled by Progg influence.

Wish I could tell you how many of my species wants your heads dangling from a flagpole, but alas, I can not.

Proggs are creatures born from ether. A blue rose, if you are poetically inclined. We are like summons permanently tethered to this world.

Any other questions? This tunnel is a bit of a long stretch."

The party treks on through the dank tunnel.

"Surley there must be a spy if they new about us heroes coming, they new the date place and everything.  The Gladius until are their elite soldiers so it can't be coincidence.  If they are as bad as you say they are, our best hope of deaf ting them is splitting them up and taking them on 1 by 1."

"They must've spotted the chariot leaving Luosh and deduced nobody would be so stupid as to try to escape without bringing help back to Luosh. Thus they set up the ambush. Proggs are tireless predators at heart: they can spend weeks on a trail."

"Weaknesses? Besides our inherent weaknesses to some elements due to us being "Beasts?" (Racist term if i've ever heard one, hmph.) None that I know of.

They're treating the invasion like it is a sick game. They hold people hostage, torture them, eat them in front of their tortured families, etc. They're currently trying to squash all hope and mentally scar everyone in Luosh before simply bum-rushing the Town Hall all at once and capturing it in one fell swoop. After that? they'll probbaly move to the next city. Your presence here is probbaly going to cause them to pick up the pace, unfortunately. We have to stop this threat now before it spreads like the plague."

"We could get to the town hall, use this tunnel to guide as many people safety and then strike the Proggs while they are having their parties in celebration or when they are hung over the day after the celebrations.  Or will they hunt down and kill anyone who escapes?"

"Tunnels are two-way. After you get out, any Progg who stumbles into the tunnel well have an express ticket to near the Town Hall. No good. We're collapsing this after you reach the Town Hall. And yes, they will hunt down and kill any escapees. Relentlessly.

Proggs don't get hangover. It is impossible. Our livers are so strong we can chug booze 24/7 and not get the least bit tipsy."

"I'll thank you now... Friends. You saved us and we are greatfull." commented Sylph as he carefully followed the two Proggs through the tunnel, making sure not to trip on the dirt and rock. "So, I have several questions. First, who are you? Are you rebels? Do you morally object to this invasion? Or do you possess a personal vendetta towards 'The Death Prog?' Second, Where are the leaders and how do we kill them?"

"So erm... Toxiproggs, right? Do you have names, how should we call you?

Say that we do rid you of the leaders of Proggdom, what then? Can you foresee a way in which your species can live peacefully next to humans, elves and whatnot, or are we just to expect another hot-headed Progg to replace the current leaders at the top of the food chain and start a new wave of terror?"

"Our history is a bit of an odd one.

You see, we belonged to an offshoot clan. We started out as the first colony to leave the island - or atleast, our grandpa was, along with about 20 other Proggs. We weren't born yet.

However, as this clan grew, a terrible thing happened. Being creatures born from ether, being so far away from our place of birth (the island is one big ether hotspot) we began to devolve. Each new generation was weaker and more frail then the last. The king of all Proggs, the Mythrogg, (who thankfully isn't attending this invasion) sent his thirdborn son to whip us back into shape and bring us back to the island. This thirdborn I'm talking about is none other then the Death Progg, whose real name appears to be Rhodus. Rhodus probably set up the Death Progg psuedonym just to care us more, if being the size of a 2 story building wasn't already enough.

Rhodus was a dictator. He abused us, tortured us. We led him not out of gratefulness but fear. We possess a personal vendetta against him and all the troops who follow him.. His two elder brothers probably aren't too nice either.

The "Death Progg" allowed us no individuality. Just call us Toxiproggs for now, k?

You'll have to find where the leaders are ducking out and slay them one by one in battle. I'm pretty sure they each have a different section of Luosh under their personal thrall, "divide and conquer" and all that jazz.

Proggs hate other beings too much to live peacefully with other species, with rare exceptions. They - no, we - were created to be slaves. I'm fine and dandy putting the past behind us, but they are not."

The Toxiprogg's stop their sorrowful tale and turn around to look at the party. They had hit a dead end in the tunnel.

"Okay. We are directly under the backyard of the Town Hall. We can surface you if you'd like. Or would you like to ask more questions? Or would you want to prepare? Never know what kind of nasty stuff you'll meet above..."

Johon prepares his weapon, and concentrates on his sword. His meteor blade faintly glowed, as Johon little power of ether passed through it.
"Ready when you are, should you - whatever you are - go up first, then come back down and give us a report?"
