This may sound a bit weird, but i have a problem with one of my display sets, 9397 Logging Truck. Because of the weight and the distance between the wheels, the middle part is a little saggy, and i'm afraid that the beams and the joints will be damaged. Should i be worried ? If so, what can i do to (beside take the set apart, because i want to keep it intact).

ps: sorry for my english

Not trying to be funny at all but have you deployed the outriggers to see if that helps?

Hi!

I don't think you need to worry much about this issue. Firt of all, the part are really strong, these are also examined in FEA. As i need a part from a built-up model, or i want to change in the deep structure, i often don't pick each part, but stress / bend the whole construction (1000+ pieces models), and sometimes i am also really impressed, that nothing broken.  :classic:
Due to the tolerances it will bend always a bit, but i hardly believe, that it will cause a long time effect. Maybe after couple of years... i never had a single model untouched that long.
My suggestions:
- remove the battery pack, if it is not needed,
- build or use an unvisible support. (f.e.: 5x3 L beam, which can be folded down from the chassis, i checked, there is enough space to build it in, or use a small box).   :sweet:

The outtriggers are also a good idea, but due to the clutch they will not help a lot - only if you remove the 1x1 gray "blocker" on both sides, and you fold the outtriggers manually till their limits. Don't be afraid, You will not force the drivechain, the clutch will slip only.

I hope i could give you usefull hints.

Bye!

Yah, this problem happens because of the long wheelbase and the weight of the battery box. It is not a big deal but for displays, I would sub the heavy battery box in with an empty battery box to keep the asthetics.

You generally shouldn't leave your batteries in the box when you're not using the model. They will not be able to uphold the voltage, and possibly corrode. I checked an old battery box of mine, and it was covered in corrosion:S

The battery box is on the model, but i don;t keep the batteries in it. The outriggers are no good to hold the model, they are to flimsy :(
