8213 Spy runner was released in 1998, contains 98 pieces, and features opening canopy/wings and lifting wheels. It cost 10$ when it was released, I paid 8$ for mine without box.

It has the same coloring theme as 8217 The Wasp and 8208 Custom Cruiser, suggesting they are in the same theme.

Interesting pieces include some white flex axles and knobwheels, 2 rubber bands and 4 6578 tires.

These 12L axles will support the wheels and "wing".

The rear wheel base.

A green Technic brick and some 4 axles locks the wheel support in place.

Some white knobwheels and seat placed.

Another set on knobsheels synchronizes the landing gear.

The rear wing base is made of axles and thin liftarms.

Some rubber bands keeps the wing in lowered or lifted position.

Some white flex axles suggests the canopy.

Lastly adding a thin liftarm to complete the rear wing.

Finished. Pushing down the rear wing retracts the wheels and opens the canopy.

Last page suggests playing scenes with the car. I don't think I will send it off a cliff though.

Comparison with 8208, 8216, 8218, 8207.
