8217 was released in 1998 as part of the MicroTechnic line. It consists of 64 pieces, and features a rotating propeller driven by the landing wheels.

We begin with the landing wheels. The bent parts were stickered prior to constructing this.

The tail assembly has its own sub-assembly part. Funny for a set this size.

An axle 6 with a 12T bevel gear will drive the main prop.

prop driveshaft added to base. It's clear how the wheels will drive the main propeller.

Two sets of landing lights, on for each side.

Two white flex axles make out the canopy for this chopper.

THe tail also has its own sub-assembly. Another flex axle simulates the rear prop movement.
