Hello,

I'm seeing the WeDo USB Hub 9581 (img) and I'm wondering if it can work with the new PF Servo motor (img)

By work I mean if it can be proportionally controlled.
Also, not knowing well that WeDo part, I wonder what alternative do you have for controlling it other than what LEGO offers you.

In Mindstorms NXT for example, if you don't like NXT-G, there are alternative firmwares like RobotC, leJOS, …
How does the WeDo thing work?

I think Sariel did some work with the weDo kit. I bet he'd know.

The WeDo software allows for power levels of the attached motors so in theory it might work. Unfortunately I'm on holiday so I can't test it right now. The snag is that the WeDo hub is powered by a USB port so the power output is only 5V. I'm not sure if the Servo would respond at such a low voltage.

There are other ways of programming the WeDo system, the most well known being Scratch. Other options include Cherp and Squeek.
