I hope so, but i think its more because of the big new rancor mold.
My guess is $70, but I hope I'm wrong.

Yes!   :cry_happy:   Looks good to me!
The Rancor is a little small, but I didn't really expect anything much bigger, and it's ok as long as you can get a Gammorean in it's mouth.

I think it would be cool if his stomach was hollow so you could put the whole Gammorean down there

That is outstanding. The rancor is the perfect height, the keeper looks great, and room has everything needed without using too much. I love it. This is probably the set I've been waiting for the longest, and it's finally here. There's no way I'm passing it up.

I just noticed the way the Rancor's claws can move. Have we seen this before in a brick built creature like this? It's amazing!

He is the Rancor's keeper, his name is Malakili

He's the Rancor's keeper. I forget his name (it's never mentioned in the film), but after Luke kills the Rancor he can be seen breaking down in tears.

Look at his weapon! It uses what looks like an inverse of the 1M bar with clip (48729). A useful piece to be sure.

Also that skeleton is, to my knowledge, the first use of Ninjago skeleton arms with a Fantasy-Era Castle skeleton torso. About time, I say. I think that's among the best combinations of skeleton parts, certainly better than the classic Fantasy-Era Castle skeletons with their absurdly-long battle droid arms.

The set itself is pretty impeccable, with a decent-sized Rancor, a sturdy-looking structure with some nice rocky details, what appears to be a dark orange pitchfork (!), and a color scheme and shape that look like they'll work wonderfully with Jabba's Palace. Shame there isn't anything present to boost up the adjacent tower, but I guess we can't have everything (and that shouldn't be too hard to MOC anyway).

The Rancor himself is quite nice, with printed eyes that don't go over-the-top in detail, some claw pieces that could potentially prove useful, and a cohesive-looking structure that looks just as "alive" as any other minifigure. Some more studs might have been nice, but overall it's a great size and a great shape, and generally meets my expectations.

The rancor looks awesome and the set itself is better than I expected. Looks like Luke has a new face as well.

Just a shame there isn't anything to go beneath the tower.

I can usually find redeeming qualities in most sets, but my initial impression of the Rancor Pit is that it looks pretty terrible.  As a stand alone set, it's incredibly ugly.  I can only imagine that Jabba's Palace sitting on top would result in a ridiculous looking structure.  It'll be interesting to see what the price is, but I'll bet it won't be pretty.  The set is bound to please many though...

I'm still saving final judgment until more pics and price become available.

Nice set! It has all the necessary minifigures in it! But somehow i feel this will look pretty lame without the Palace on top...

Thank you everyone for answering my question.    Well, I am so happy with the Rancor, because I was really worried it would be brick-built, which I didn't really want, and seeing it not-brick-built makes me so happy!!

Rancor is not as good as I expected.   Bag End would make a lovely Ewok or Yoda house though...

The pit meets my expectations. I wasn't expecting a pit to be anything more than functional for housing the beast. It's not a very pretty set or an interesting design, but worth it to get that Rancor.

I see Lego has the Gamorrean trying to trick the Rancor into eating the chicken wing instead of him. Cute!

It looks to me because of the location of the pyramid shaped locators on the top of the set, that the reason for the hinges on the back of the Jabba's Palace throne room are to allow the Rancor gate to be raised. (nevermind, upon further review, I noticed that you can't open it while sitting on the Rancor Pit. Doh!)

Amazing set! The Rancor does not disappoint on size either! It looks not far of the T-rex size like I said it would be.

Now I can't wait to see a shot of this with the palace set sitting on top!
