This set was used when I got it, but it is in a very good condition, and has instruction. Sorry, I haven't the box.
Theme: Harry Potter
Subtheme: Philospher's Stone
Year: released 2001
RRP: £16.99 / US$20
It has very beautiful decor such as every manuals from 2001-2003.
There is advertising of the game on the other side of the instruction.
There are surprises waiting for you inside the manual, or rather on its last pages. One of them is some small game sketches.
Another surprise is alternative models. I will show only one of them.
The last page shows how all the sets released in 2001 are connected.
This set is very nice, in the spirit of good old Harry Potter
Peeves, Ron Weasley and Professor Snape. Peeves is a poltergeist of the Hogwarts Castle, Ron Weasley is Harry Potter's best friend, and Severus Snape is Potions teacher.
They don't have prints on the back sides.
Evolution of the figures:
The Professor‘s head can glow in the dark.
The main part of a set is Snape's office. It consists of two parts, flexibly connected to each other.
The first part is the main one. There are shelves with potions, a table and a book stand.
The first has already been shown at the beginning of the review...
The second secret is an "opening" table.
The last secret is a manuscript under the pot with potion.
As you can see, all the functions are very simple.
The reverse side of the set:
Well, the latest feature is the opening door
The minifigures are super.
The building is very beautiful and interesting.
It is really difficult to find it if you want to buy it.

This was before my time collecting HP sets and it's really amazing how far the line has come. It's alot like looking at the old Star Wars sets. Ron is almost unrecognizable and Snape just barely, Peeves almost looks like an angry statue.

I'm actually amazed I don't have this set. I have most of the original Harry Potter sets, as my mom use to get them for me and my brother. I really like Peeves in this set.

These were out before both my love of LEGO and Harry Potter. I've managed to secure a few of them like the Forbidden Corridor. From looking at the sets online, they appear quite same-y though they have a lot of charm to them. I guess they had to be similar given that they appear to be designed to be somewhat modular. I really like the inclusion of Peeves; given that the vast majority of HP sets were based on the films rather than the books, it's nice to see something derived from the books. I'm similarly fond of the inclusion of the flute that's used to lull Fluffy to sleep in the Forbidden Corridor set.

I specially like how all 2001/2002 Harry Potter sets were able to connect forming one big scene. Now only few sets are such as Helm's Deep.
