This is my first review of a set so be gentle with me.

The front of the box is the usual affair with Lego box art. The main image shows you the model as if in flight, with a small depiction of the model from birds eye view, also giving dimensions. I like the presentation of this small image, made to look like one of the dials from the plane.

The back of the box is the same story, this time giving the rear view of the plane, again including two small images of the cockpit controlled functionality of the set, the ability to control the flaps. More on that later. The small images are also made to look like the dials, and the bottom of the box is printed to look like its wood.

We get 11 bags in total, and lots and lots of green and tan plates.

The instruction books come with a cardboard backing so no crumpled pages, always a bonus. There are unfortunately decal stickers, which won be good for my shaky hands. Obviously it was a necessary thing to do, brick building the RAF symbols would of been a task.

One has a standard brick separator that appears in many of the new larger sets. Interesting way of packing the larger Lego strings.

Parts to note : the silver curved brick, the brown wing strut, the technic frame and the technic suspension part.

It's nice to see the build separated into sections, shame the bags aren't separated the same way though.

This is the first section completed. This is already taking up a bit of space!

And the finished set. This is a lovely set, it looks amazing. It's also a very enjoyable build, you won't find yourself getting bored of it anytime soon. Spin the rotor around and it's almost hypnotic. And the decals were no problem at all.

Final note, it's a very good source for stud attached string pieces, now a very rare inclusion these days

Ultimately, I think I'd rate this set at a 9 out of 10. The only thing i feel lets it down, and it's a very small thing, is the flaps on the wings, they don't move much. But thats it's only flaw! Otherwise its perfect.

I'm not sure why but my Flickr links weren't (and still aren't) working, hence why there are a lack of images on this page, at least I could actually post links. Can someone help me out with this problem? Anyways, thanks for having a look!

Nice review! I love anything in dark green, so I might pick this up. Also, to help people, would you mind deeplinking the pictures? Just click on Share above your picture and copy the BBCode and paste it here!

I have to ask, how did you get your hands on this? From what I've heard, it's not hitting shelves until June 1st, at least in the states.

Thanks very much for the review, however. This is one of the few sets that's stayed on my must-have list since it was announced.

Sure thing I'll get them deep linked.

I work for Lego at the Bluewater Store and so was asked to build one for display purposes.

Good review, 'The Fezter'! :classic:

I'm not really interested in this set, but I do like the amount of dark green pieces in it. It also looks pretty cool when it's built.

Thx for the review. Could you post some more pictures of the building process? Now you post 1 picture of the finished first section followed by the completed model... Nothing in between.

I'm afraid i completely forgot to take anymore photos during that time and I no longer have the set available to me.

If you don't mind, I'll probably do my own review of this set when I pick it up this weekend. I'll take some of the missing photos.

Totally fine. I'll remember to do more photos in my next review

Excellent first review. :classic: I've been keeping my eye on this set, but have been on the fence about whether or not to pick it up. I mainly purchase SW sets, but lately I've been wanting to bracnch out to other themes. With my recent b-day comibined with what I think is a decent price, I might just pick this one up! Thanks again for the review. :classic:

I hope no-one breaks it... (The Fezter will get that!)

Looks great, and a big improvement on the previous one. I do like the use of the dark green colour, and its BIG!
