Hello everyone,

Curse of the Treasure Raiders
Posted Image

It has been a long while since I did a review in the MCW Forum. Now, I am back again to share one of the latest new releases which was designed and developed by one of the leading Minifigures Customisation Manufacturer, BrickArms. In this special review, I had put together a playing scene of my own, called the "Curse of the Treasure Raiders" which is an imaginary settings of 2 factions consisting of the treasure raiders and the hired mercenary who are out to raid the Pharaoh's treasure trove and ultimately faced by the demonic guardians. That is a very summarised synopsis.

In this playing scene, I will be reviewing and covering the new releases of the BrickArms 2012: M16 Variants and M110 Sniper Rifle content which was part of the first product launch in February 2012.

To me, I am highly looking forward to these new M16 Variants and M110 Sniper Rifle products. All of the featured weapons, consisting of the M16, M16-(AGL), M16-DBR and M110 are excellent additions to the current BrickArms Modern Warfare product range. In this review, I will be presenting 2 sets of different colours for all of the 4 distinct weaponry. The first set is seen in 'Gunmetal' finishing which is used by the hired mercenaries, while the second set is seen in 'Black' finishing which is used by the treasure raiders.

Presenting the M16 Rifle

The M16 Rifle is one of the long running firearm which is currently being used until the present moment. I will like to thanks BrickArms for being able to create the standard M16 design for equipping onto my LEGO minifigures. It is extremely impressive and detailed and it is regarded as one of my most favourite BrickArms weapons of all time, after the AK47. One of the reason why I enjoyed this weapon, is because in the Singapore National Service, we used AR15 for our weapon handling and training for our military training. The difference between the AR15 and the M16, if I recall correctly is the absence of the forward assist located near the side of the bolt carrier group. The design of the BrickArms M16 is meticulous and well-designed. It features and include all of the distinct components like the butt, handle, handguard, magazine, etc.

Presenting the M16-AGL (Advanced Grenade Launcher) with ACOG scope and M203 Grenade Launcher

The M16-AGL which is known as the advanced grenade launcher. It is a new design variation that combines the M203 grenade launcher together with the M16. The grenade launcher pops smoke into the field to form a smokescreen and at the same time, this variation comes with an ACOG scope for much better precision during aiming. The sharpness and details of the M203 and the ACOG scope is incredible and you could see the threads clearly despite of the limited space that the weapon carries.

Presenting the M16-DBR (Door Breaching) with breaching shotgun attachment

Bringing you new another design variation of the M16-DBR which meant door breaching that comes with shotgun attachment. As the name sounds, I believe this design is to tear doors apart to create a point of entry through the breaching shotgun attachment. This weapon is the most destructive piece of weapon as compared with the rest of the variants and I can't imagine the recoil that firer had to withstand upon firing the shotgun and firing rounds from the M16 barrel. I will use those new weapons to blast those zombies. It will be very effective for that purpose.

Presenting the M110 Sniper Rifle

Last but not least, the new M110 Sniper Rifle or also known as the M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System that loads 7.62mm round like the one used in the GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun). It is silent, accurate and deadly which will prove lethal to any incoming hostile enemies.

To conclude, this is a dream coming true. In this particular launch, I enjoy the original M16 design along with its various new design variations that allows endless possibilities for timeless playing to be placed in your LEGO modern army collection. In general, the M16 prices are very reasonable and in my opinion, I am glad the pricing is not too steep and it is pretty affordable to acquire it to own these legendary classic weapons. Lastly, I hope you had enjoy this simple reviewing coverage.

Always love your reviews, White Fang!  Perfect blend of great photography, thorough writing, and more than a bit of fun to make it a great read.

Glad you like them, and thanks for taking the time to review these items!

To answer the question before it's asked, the M16 variants and the M110 Sniper Rifle are not currently available from BrickArms resellers in Gunmetal but will be in the near future.  However, all resellers do have those accessories in Black.
"I watched him die all night. It was a long, slow thing and he fought it all the way. He never whimpered and he never quit. He took all the time he had as though he loved life very much. Every second of it...even the pain. Then, he was dead."
