Hi,
Been lurking and posting here and there, thought it was time to say hello.
Like many I had Lego as a child, but our family collection was 'donated' to younger relatives when we grew up. I got back into it after buying a few small sets for my son. I started off with the lovely big technics sets - 8421 was my first and it was awesome. Then came 8275 bulldozer with its amazon RC functions - it was never like that in the olden days.
Then I went onto eBay and bought my favourite set from when I was young - 8860 technic chassis. So many fantastic features, the memories came flooding back.
Since then I've discovered the joys of SW Lego and the modular buildings, and am moving away from the technics sets. I love the details and little touches in things like the VW camper and mini modulars.
I think my favourite sets at the moment are the UCS imperial shuttle - so imposing, the VW Camper - so many tiny details and a joy to build, and the mini modulars - which packs in so much of the character of the larger sets
I have two kids - a son who is 10, and a daughter who is 7. My son enjoys making mini modular scale stuff at the moment, and my daughter can't decide whther she wants Lego friends or the Dino set for her birthday :)

Making the transition from Technic to System? Whoa, that sounds inspiring! Welcome out of lurking, hope this helps you enjoy your time on the forums even more!
